Food was really good with large portions. Service could be better (it wasn’t even a full restaurant, so not sure why the service was slow). This was a half way meeting point with the others in our party (our daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandkids), It is too far to be a regular place for my husband and I to eat but would for sure meet up again for breakfast and take the grandkids off my daughter’s hands for a sleepover.

From beginning to end, this was a great breakfast experience! Our waitress Kaitlyn, make sure we understood everything about the menu from beginning to end. The general manager, Matthew Shepard, came by to visit our table and explain to us how everything in the kitchen is scratch made, and even brought us a scratch made biscuit to try, fresh from the oven! It was phenomenal by the way!

I wish I could give more stars. But I just can’t. We went in the evening Our server was nice and pleasant but service took forever. It wasn’t like the store was busy. Took an hour to get our food. Although the food was plated well it was mediocre at best. Wed been waiting a half hour just to get our check. Stood at the register for another 10 minutes with four other guests waiting to pay. Maybe if we go for breakfast sometime we will have a better experience as those plates look delicious!

The food was very good. The place is usually very busy but when we went it was for breakfast right after they opened at 6am so we started out as the only guest. Only small complaint was that all the silverware was dirty , but that’s probably the dishwasher not a individual person’s fault. Plastic throw away silverware was offered. Again food was very good and the restaurant reminds me of one in Colorado or Montana , it was good.

Great place to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner. They weren’t too busy so we got our food rather quickly. It was so delicious. The portions are big and priced well. I will be coming here again definitely!

The food was mediocre. The atmosphere was borderline cute, but the service was so so bad. I am hoping that it gets better because it could truly be a nice place for breakfast and brunch. It’s at a great location with lots of space for family gatherings, but they really need to work on their customer service, they are heal to heal with the waffle House with taste , but still still don’t compare to Cracker Barrel.

Our first time at Black Bear Diner and it’s was fantastic! I loved it! We came on Saturday early afternoon, we were sat right away and soon after our server came to take our order. They have a huge menu selection… I ending up ordering The Grizz (huge portion) with 2 butter pancakes. My husband ordered the Scrambowl. Everything was cooked perfectly AND coffee was amazing! Strong just the way we like it! Our server gave us a little back story on the coffee… it comes from Nicaragua, for each cup sold they donate to help build schools in Nicaragua. I love that! Overall, food and service were great! We will definitely come back!

We went for a late lunch. We were seated promptly and menus were already on the table. Our server Dolores greeted us and took our drink orders right away. She was knowledgeable about the menu and answered our questions and took our order accurately. The fried shrimp and slaw were delicious. My wife’s burger patty wasn’t as good as some burgers. The French fries could have been a little more crisp. The food had a great presentation. Very enjoyable experience overall.

Hubby and I stopped in for a late dinner. I was very pleased with the friendliness of the staff. Very welcoming. I was a little skeptical at first, but that was eased as I tasted my first bite. I ordered from the little less option and that’s exactly what your gonna get, so keep that in mind when you order. It was pretty good. Hubby let me try his strawberry shake, burger, and onion rings they were just as delicious. The staff stated that their breakfast is the best, so we”ll have to go back and try their breakfast. (breakfast is served all day) They also make some of the baked goods (dessert) on site. They looked pretty tasty, so we”ll have to try the dessert next time as well. You’ll also find cute souvenirs to remember your dining experience. There is plenty of seating and the decor is great wilderness and cabins. We’re definitely planning on coming back 🙂

Terrible service and attitudes from servers. We’ve been to another Black Bear Diner and it was amazing. But this location was awful. After we were seated it took 15 minutes for a server to ask for our drinks and she said she wasn’t even our server she was just getting our drinks. Then she disappeared and another server came and asked for our drinks. Then it took another 5 to 10 minutes for him to bring our drinks so in total it took a little over 20 minutes for us to just get drinks. After that he took our order and we waited for our salads, which took another 10 minutes and then our entrées came out 30 minutes later. At this point we had been there for at least 45 minutes before getting our food and there were only two other tables in the restaurant at this time and at least three other servers. I had ordered the chicken fried steak and as soon as he said it down in front of me, it smelled weird. I tried everything and it did not taste right and I wanted to send it back. However, our server never came back to check on us. And by the time he came back, everyone else was done eating, so I just sent it back and I didn’t order anything else. The only good thing is that he took it off of our check and I complain to the manager at the front about everything that happened and he gave us another discount on our check, but I don’t really see us ever going back based on the service. My kids ordered pancakes and they like those. However, my husband ordered a Reuben sandwich and he didn’t really like it either but he still ate it.
