We ate at the original Black Bear Diner in Shasta many years ago, LOVED it, and have been wanting to return ever since. Happily, we now have one in Palmdale, and the food, service and decor are still all first rate. The servers and hostess were prompt, efficient, courteous and on point, with special thanks to Ashley. We arrived on a Mother’s Day around 3 PM, and waited less than ten minutes to be seated. As for the food…pictures don’t do it justice. The corned beef hash is actual corned beef, roasted with potatoes, and melt in your mouth delicious. The chicken and waffles (ohhhh, those sweet cream waffles) are good to the last bite, although, given their generous portion sizes, you might find yourself taking some home. If you’ve never eaten here, treat yourself and stop in, if you haven’t been here in a while, remind yourself of what you’ve been missing!

Decided to try Black Bear Diner for our late lunch and we weren’t disappointed! The inside is pretty cool and definitely bear-themed. And everything was so tasty! I had huckleberry lemonade, which, since a huckleberry is similar to a blueberry, it was no surprise that it tasted like blueberry lemonade but also a little like pink lemonade (which is a total fave of mine!)

Food was so good I had to take a quick walk to the gift section, wish they had XXL bear feet slippers. But it was a nice Saturday morning, we got there early, sat at the bar and enjoyed the atmosphere. Service was amazing, food was amazing, definitely found a new breakfast spot.

Nice restaurant. Very clean. Lots of tables. Plenty of space to move around. The service here was great. The staff is attentive and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. We said, “This is so good” many times throughout our dinner. I was sad I didn’t have two burgers before I was even halfway through! The fries were surprisingly amazing as well. Meals here are a little more expensive, but worth it. We will definitely be returning.

First time trying Black Bear diner didn’t have to wait to long for service. Love there very unique newspaper menu. They serve large portions of food reason why their prices are pretty reasonable. Food was great. Server was super attentive being the only server he did a great job. Had the fried chicken dinner with mashed potato and gravy and steamed vegetables very tasty included clam chowder soup and corn bread warm served with butter. Mulberry lemonade to drink. Delicious
