BEST clam chowder we’ve ever had!! Ordered from the take out window after a long day on the beach. Lobster bisque was good but the clam chowder was AMAZING!! Fun casual vibe right in the marina.

This is a nice place but I’m not sure we would return. We each had the clam chowder which was okay but perhaps our expectations were too high, as they are very proud of having won the best chowder of the Cape, but we preferred the chowder we had at the Old Yarmouth Inn. Also had one so-so cocktail (a bit watery) and the lobster roll (warm) which was okay but very expensive. Fries are extremely thin which I didn’t care for. Ended up paying $80 for this smallish lunch which seems a lot considering that it’s a very simple place. Might try the Black Cat restaurant next door next time, but we wanted to sit outdoors and have a view of the harbor.

We found this place last minute, as we are on vacation with our kids for the weekend and they were super hungry. We are so glad we found it because the food was amazing and the staff was awesome. Peter was our server and he was the best! Super friendly and very attentive.

We ate really, really well. The clam chowder is famous for a reason and they give very big portions of everything. The fried clams weren’t the best ones I ever had but the Tuna Taco was just wow (aware: it’s a bit spicy).

My family and I come here every year, it’s now a tradition. There is usually a wait it you go after 6:00 pm, but we’ll worth it. While we wait we always walk along the pier. The drinks are creative, I had a spicy margarita that was delicious. The food always comes out hot and fresh.

We came here to celebrate a birthday, although we originally wanted to eat from next door, the Black Cat restaurant. However here at the Black Cat Harbor Shack, 90% of the Black Cat Restaurant menu is available. The Black Cat Harbor Shack had generous portions and friendly staff. The drink menu was extensive too. Outdoor seating was nice and there is a good view of the boats and harbor. Metered parking is available near by. They also had menus available via QR code. Overall, it was great place to eat.

the wait to be seated for dinner was about 45 minutes for 2 people. we got there about 7pm on a Sunday but prior to labor day. once we were seated we waited for about 10 minutes before anyone came by to take our order for drinks, fortunately we were ready to order. i got the spicy tuna wontons and clam chowder. the utensils were plastic, plates were paper, and the soup bowl was cardboard. o don’t know if they ran out of real silverware and dishes or what but this seemed too cheap. the wontons looked like they were thrown together although had a good flavor (not as spicy as i had hoped though). the clam chowder had a very good flavor but wasn’t as good as i had hoped after hearing about it and the awards it has won. overall it was good food but not great and the service was just ok but what sticks out the most was the plastic utensils and paper dishes.

No better than any cheap diner, but very expensive. Good chowder, good mussels (except for the hard-rock slice of garlic bread that accompanied it), 4 little stuffed shrimp accompanied by baked potatoes that were probably baked last week and warmed up to serve that day. Decent slaw. Ok lobster roll, but there’s much better elsewhere, and cheaper. Nice skinny fries. Sweet waitress. Not worth the effort to get there, find parking, pay for parking, etc.
