A friend of mine recommended Black Marlin and it did not disappoint. In fact, it was better than expected after listening to the recommendation. It is not a very big restaurant which I can only assume allows them to provide quality over quantity. And for the prices, you can’t beat it. This is the only restaurant I can remember where the food is a few steps above the price they charge. Don’t get me wrong, it is still a $25-50 per person dining experience with the ability to go well above that, but they do such a fantastic job to where it makes it completely worth it. I left thinking I robbed the place!

We celebrated a Birthday. Made reservations for the bar. The sweet young bartender was fantastic. She was attentive, even though she had a full bar. She was skilled with the libations also. Great time. We ordered seared scallops that were amazing, and the birthday boy wanted to come for the Shrimp and Grits that never disappoint. But we also ordered Grouper, and unfortunately, it was so hard my husband’s fork wouldn’t cut through it. So we ordered another order of Scallops. This restaurant has scrumptious food, but a reservation is a must and make it days ahead.

Hello all. I’ve been to several restaurants on the island and I have to say. For the price. I would rather go to Castaways. Google Maps said there was no wait time. But we were seated outside because there was nothing available inside? Which is no problem, really, but they were short-handed. That’s understandable. I get that. But the food took a long time to get served. One waitress for about 6 tables outside. The atmosphere was nice. Facing the Gulf. The Gulf is actually not visible because of a dune in the way. All in all, I would not really recommend Black Marlin Bar and Grill. Props to the Reds bar for taking care of us. Cheers

This is one of our fave restaurants in all of the Port A! When visiting, we always have one dinner and one brunch at Black Marlin. We were excited this last time to find out that they now take online reservations. The shrimp and grits are the best ever. Our 7 year old daughter has to get her own bowl each time and devours them. Their drinks are tasty and refreshing and they always have a great cocktail menu. Servers are always nice and we love seeing some of the same ones there year after year. The Sunday brunch has a Blood Mary Bar with so many food add-ons you may not need to order any food from the menu. Our daughter adores the croissant beignets and the avocado toast was light and perfect.

We arrived for dinner and sat outside as I did not know we needed reservations to dine indoors. We had never been here before and the menu looked great. I placed an order with the female bartender who was working patio. After an hour of waiting, and noticing people who had come after were receiving their food before us, I asked the bartender about how much longer our food would take. She came to our table and asked what kind of salad we had ordered!! She never put in our order and then lied saying there were only 2 tickets in front of us but 1 was a large order. I know this was a lie because 4 different parties who came after us got their dinner before us. We told the woman we were leaving because it had been over 2 hrs and still had not received our food. All she said was ok, I’ll delete the ticket. No apologies, couldn’t even admit that she forgot to enter our order. Worst customer service experience I’ve experienced from a restaurant. Will never be back, and from reading other reviews the food isn’t worth it anyway.

The food was pretty good, but maybe overpriced for what you get. My husband got the fish and chips and said it was excellent. I got shrimp and grits which was unique but the shrimp was definitely overcooked.

We came here with a 7pm reservation on a Thursday. We arrived around 6:40 and were seated immediately. Appetizers and drinks arrived fairly quickly but took over an hour just to get our meals and hardly anyone was at the restaurant. Most of the tables were empty until we left around 8:15 and it started getting crowded. We ended up asking for our food to go as we have 2 small kiddos and they were losing patience. Meals were ok – fish was super dry in my tacos. Definitely should not have taken that long.

We went there after playing golf for brunch. I loved the Bloody Mary bar! I had the avocado Benedict it was so yummy and my husband had the chicken fried steak which was delicious. They have several flavors of mimosas and I don’t think you can go wrong with any of those. Service was attentive and quick – no complaints and definitely going back!
