My parents from Japan and I visited Black Sushi House over the weekend. Chef’s special Sushi platter, Chirashi bowl and Poke bowl were all fresh and perfectly & delicately prepared in a way so that the original flavors would stand out. Both chef and the waiter were friendly, but not only that, they were genuine & looked very happy to be where they are, doing what they were doing. Additional sums up to BYOB system. Perfect way to spend an evening outside, with tasty seafood with your favorite drinks. The whole experience was wonderful, I will definitely go back to try other menus too. Thank you very much for an enchanting evening 🙂

Delightful dining experience! We dined outside listening to live jazz. William started us off with a deliciously blended salad and edamame appetizer. Then he wowed us with Hamachi collar! The spider roll and unagi were delectable! For dessert we were treated to a caramel filled banana! James gave us attentive, friendly service. Highly recommend Black House Sushi!

Cute nice spot with fresh sushi. We started with some edamame and miso soup, both good. Then we got sake, tekka, unagi and lobster maki all were good but the lobster was excellent.

I just witnessed one of the most generous things I’ve ever seen at a concert! At Thompsons Point – the owner of Black Stone took the evening off, brought all of his employees to a concert, and gave the band extraordinary amount of sushi as a lovely gesture! That is absolutely MAINE hospitality at its best! Thank you for giving me a story to brag about – your are THE ROCK STAR… in my eye!

We had such a great experience, not just a delicious dinner! Trifecta salad is one of the best salads in Ogunquit. We went with William’s suggestions! Can’t wait to go back in October. This was Great!

ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM 2019 Incredible gem in Ogunquit. Insanely fresh fish, skilled Sushi chef, hospitable hands-on owner behind the bar. Cozy spot under Levitt Theatre downtown. Definitely try this place. UPDATED REVIEW Aug. 2021 – this season they had a change in owner and sushi chef. It has lost its shine and freshness. Rarely go there anymore, because of the dramatic difference in quality. Food and fish are fresh, but cuts aren’t clean and looks slapped together at times. They are a little all over the place, overwhelmed and not consistent. Selfishly I hope they get things together, because great sushi within minutes from home is a gift. It’s in the heart of OGT – easy to get to.

Yes. Opening night was Friday and the guys are delivering top notch sushi for another season. Worth the wait. They are BYO, so heads up in advance. Favorites were ponzu oysters, flaming roll and banana dessert…
