We love this restaurant and have come here for years for the food and martinis. We are never disappointed with the service or the food. The bar here is also a great stop for hanging out while enjoying good drinks and food. The martinis are among the best you will ever have anywhere. I love the salmon and hot turkey sandwich. Recently my husband had the corn beef for Saint Patrick’s day and can’t stop going on about it. But that’s a limited time serving. Honestly the food is just good all around!

Visited July 2023… Swedish meatballs and burgers were great. Our server Heidi is in the wrong profession. The restaurant wasn’t busy, maybe a quarter of the tables were used. The tables around us were commenting about the service. Hate to put this out there, but get back to basics. Remove plates promptly, don’t stand at the bar and eat/drink while you are serving, be friendly, maybe engage in SOME small talk, but definitely don’t act like you don’t want to be there.

We ordered catering for Thanksgiving. Don’t EVER do it! The turkey was so dried out I’m surprised it didn’t turn into dust. The stuffing was some brand of packaged mix that they didn’t bother to add any liquid to or bother baking! I had to add lots of chicken broth and we had to eat it after our dinner because it took time to bake. The corn, obviously, was out of a can. No embellishments, not even butter, salt or pepper. The gravy was the only thing about this meal that was edible. The mashed potatoes tasted sour, and they had huge lumps in them.

The food was great! Black Woods typically delivers a great meal with great service. This visit didn’t disappoint. I ordered a steak salad and my husband and I split a seafood pesto dish. Both were delicious. Our waitress was very nice and friendly too. We will definitely be back again soon.
