An excellent experience. I had the mellow mushroom burger on a brioche bun with mac n cheese. The burger had a very pleasant flavor with the garlic aioli, and the bun was fantastic. It was nice to see that the burger was stacked properly with lettuce and tomato on the bottom. Food came out fairly quick, and the staff were very friendly. I believe the owner talked with us for a bit and told us about the various options for making your own burger and where the meat is sourced from. I’ll definitely have to come back for the bison burger. Oh, and you get a complimentary cookie.

I found this place strictly by location and reviews! We ordered the mellow mushroom burger with house made chips and the triple decker club with fries. The food was excellent, service was excellent, atmosphere also excellent! We came for the shrimp and grits, which is served after 4pm, we will come back another evening to try those!

Highly recommend! Not only was the food delicious but the environment felt like home. We were greeted by a nice gentleman, who may have been the owner, and our very sweet server, Patty. I am gluten free and had lots of options! They pay each customer close attention and I can’t wait to go back. Thank you so much for making my first time at Blue Star Grill a great experience!

I almost hate to write this as a 3/5 but I think this is fair. The owner greeted and seated us, and reviewed the menu in detail, emphasizing the proteins in certain beef/bison/elk items. We were later greeted by an equally friendly server and settled in to study the menu while drinks were in the works. Shrimp n grits was unique, hot, well prepared, tasty, not really spicy, so safe for anyone. The extra side of slaw was omitted, wasn’t realized initially, and couldn’t mention until the server came by fairly later. When the side did arrive I was mostly done. The other dish was fried flounder with mashed potatoes and slaw. Again the slaw was omitted and it wasn’t an add-on. By the time the second slaw arrived after the first slaw we were both finished. The mashed potatoes were the star of that plate. Fish was tasty but greasy. The final miscue I’ll mention is the bread. We were both asked about a bread choice and both chose a wheat roll. One arrived and it was rock hard (like air stale). I’ll give it another shot and pay more attention to what arrives at the table. The burgers are apparently the way to go.

We were looking for a place to eat in the area with healthier options and this fit the bill perfectly! My mom is gluten-free and she had tons of options. The food is on the healthy side, but definitely doesn’t lack flavor! Service was great too! And we loved the complimentary cookies—there was even a gluten free available for mom! Will definitely visit again when we’re in the area!

I love the family friendly atmosphere here. It seem to be family owned. I think the guy who came to our table was the owner who explained the menu to us in great detail and he seem passionate about where their food comes from which I liked. The servers were accommodating and great. The food was delicious my family enjoyed it we will be going back.
