Met at the door to be seated by Brenda. Nice smile and great attitude. Like a real willingness to be available.

We really enjoyed it. The staff is very friendly. The salsa was fresh. We ordered the steak queso and OMG it was delicious. The steak was so tender and full of flavor! I ordered the cheese enchiladas with red sauce, which in my opinion was bland but wasn’t bad. The rice and beans were ok. My husband ordered the wet burrito with ground beef and it was very good. I definitely recommend that . Price wise, we paid $60 including tip. I would definitely return to try the rest of the menu.

The place looked like a diner and the servers were quick bringing your drinks, taking orders. The food was meh, i ordered shrimp fajitas and they were not seasoned, just placed on the sizzling onions & peppers. There was no cheese either? The rice and beans were not hot, room temperature. My hubby ordered chicken rellenos and they brought beef. It was okay, not the best.

Blue Agave is a new restaurant in Abilene and I hope it lasts because the food was amazing. The Queso Flamiado was loaded with steak and had amazing cheese pulls. For an entree the quesabirria was amazing the consumate had great flavor and the birria meat was tender with tremendous flavor. Some of the best birria I’ve had in my life. Will definitely go back. Only negatives was wait staff was really aggressive with prebusing. We ended up losing a flour tortilla from the queso flamiado and I lost my fork. It was almost awkward at times as they waited to clear the plates. Really just a nitpick on the service. The decor was a bit odd, but that’s due to the buildings history and the previous restaurant. All in all a must try in Abilene for Tex-Mex!

The place looked really busy but we were seated quickly. Our waitress was friendly and fairly attentive. The salsa is fantastic and the guacamole was superb and extremely reasonably priced. I got the Taquena plate, steak and taco were pretty good, steak was a little chewy, the cheese enchilada was nothing to write home about. My husband got the ceviche and he really liked it. Downside there were flies everywhere I’m guessing they were keeping a door in the back open for ventilation. Overall still worth coming back.
