The Blue Circle hamburger chain was founded by Homer Longmire in 1931 in Knoxville, Tennessee. The chain eventually grew to over 30 locations. The motto of the chain was “A happy place for hungry people.” and the house specialty was a grilled burger, diced onions and mustard on a steamed bun. Breakfast was also served along with French fries, chili, onion rings, pork barbecue, as well as baked goods from the Blue Circle bakery.

Sat at the tables outside with my family. 2 of us order milkshakes the other two regular drinks. Took 5 minutes to get the regular drinks then another like 29 minutes to get our milkshakes and to order food. Then we had to wait almost a hour for food (it was not busy at all) just for it to come out barely warm and half of it was wrong or missing. Blue circle use to be a favorite of my families not anymore.

UPDATE: Went back tonight because they were kind enough to replace our order and everything was excellent, definitely recommend you try it!! The slaw dog was messy the way it should be, the fries were piping hot and the burgers were cooked perfectly.

Our church went to Blue Circle last night there was around 35 of us and Mark and Debbie Sourbeer and their employees did a wonderful job on getting our food fixed and to us in a timely matter. Everything was delicious and the employees was so friendly and nice. We will definitely be going back.

Food is delicious and staff is friendly. Lots of delicious food to choose from. Step back into the 60’s and enjoy some great onion rings. Service is fast and fantastic. Breakfast served all day till closing. They close at 8 p.m. everyday.

I write this review as a blue circle customer of 20 years.. I used to have a 5 star review up but I am now updating it. this used to be my favorite burger spot in town but the last few years have been downhill. Food takes FOREVER to be ready, yes I understand it’s made to order and not fast food, but when I wait 30-40 minutes every time I order a burger and fries I consider that unacceptable. Most of the time I finally get the food the burgers are barely cooked to well done or food isn’t hot and fresh. The last straw was today.. they were running a special for a bag of circle burgers for $9.99. I waited 35 mins for my order, the carhop came to take my order and told me it was $14. When I asked why so high and mentioned the special (which I mentioned when I ordered and they agreed that was the price today) she ripped the ticket off my bag, handed my card back without saying a thing, walked off and I had to wait 5 mins for her to come back out and take payment. I love supporting local business and I hate to say it but blue circle has gone from my favorite burger spot, to a place that is no longer worth my business. I see it’s up for sale and sure hope the new owners can restore its former glory…
