So I’ve been here a couple times in the last couple of weeks. The atmosphere is definitely the draw. Today was pure chaos. We came in and the hostess stand was just bombarded with people with reservations. There were empty tables everywhere so it was just backed up. We got seated on the rail immediately. It took our waitress a while to get to us but finally took our drink and food order. I got the seafood platter with shrimp and scallops (+$7 for the scallops) and I got a total of 4 of each. My friend got the Caesar salad and a side of lobster Mac and cheese. The salad was a joke – it looked like a side salad and the lettuce looked says old. The max and cheese looked like nacho sauce poured over top and it all just tasted like velvetta. As we were eating, the poor hostess was running around like crazy – cleaning tables, running food, and seating people. We ordered a second round of drinks and it took about 15 minutes to get them. We had our empty plates stacked up and the owner or manager walked by about three times and couldn’t be bothered to grab them or check in with anybody. I’m not impressed. Our friends came when we were waiting on our second drink and they literally ordered and ate their food by the time we got our drinks and paid our bill. Definitely a lot of kinks that need to be worked out. This has such great potential but you’re getting ready to have to depend on the locals. Also, booing reservations and cancelling/modifying is not user friendly.

Food was first rate. Fried Green Tomatoes were some of the best we’ve had. Hubby had a fresh Grouper Oscar that he said was fabulous. I had a really good bowl of She crab soup and fresh peel and eat. Service wasn’t bad, just server didn’t know how to space orders. Our entrees came after I only had 2 bites of my app. But she was very pleasant.

The food and service at the Blue Drum was legit… 10/10!! Yesterday was our first time trying out the Blue Drum and at first we didn’t know what to expect, it was very busy, so we were worried the service might be spotty. But that was not the case at all!! Our server was on point (thank you Trish! I think that was her name) by far one of the best dinning experience in South Carolina! And the food was so delicious, we had the she crab soup, gumbo, the seriously seafood pasta, and the shrimp and grits omg to die for … Definitely going back!!

Went with the hubs for an early dinner. Service was great. Not many people were there, but first look, it is a great place. Clean. Music good. Bar area and restaurant was gorgeous and very inviting. Great ambiance. Hubs had the lobster crab ravioli with sauce and I had grouper tacos. Very good and good portions. Well thought out menu and decor.

Not sure how we missed this place until now, but what a great find! Wonderful views of the waterway, great service and excellent happy hour food! Hot, fresh, and tasty foods. Really enjoyed our time here and looking forward to going again. Definitely recommend!

Everything was great. A neat place with great servers. We sat at the bar and they were awesome! Such a great view. I had the shrimp and grits and it was very good. Should have gotten the half portion. My wife had the mahi sandwich and loved it. My only complaint, and it’s not with them, is that we tried to get a reservation using an online service and it said there was no wait. Several other people had either gotten a reservation(that didn’t work) or done the same thing we had so there was a lot of confusion when we got there. We could tell the staff was frustrated and I felt bad for them. Again, the bartenders were awesome and the hostess was doing her best to accommodate everyone.

Fried catfish and fries green tomatoes were awesome! Our server, Alisa (akaTiffany) was fabulous! Very appreciative to the manager as we had a large group and they were VERY accommodating. We’ll be back!!

Great service! Winston, if I remember correctly? He said it was his 3rd day and he did awesome! Food came out super quick, and sooo delicious!!!! We ordered she-crab soup (yes, they use real crab meat), and oyster rock for our appetizers!! 10/10! For entree, filet (so juicy, and well flavored), 1/2 of peel-n-eat, and the crab cake entree. Literally THE BEST crab cakes I’ve ever had!! Can’t wait to return.

Came here on my vacation from Vegas. Josh and the entire staff were soooo awesome! Great energy. Great service. Great views. Great food! I am sad that I am not a local lol thanks so much for an awesome experience Blue Front Waterfront! I wish this restaurant so much success in the future

I had the seafood pasta was ok, wife ordered crab legs. They served it with an oil they said was butter. Reminded me of an olive oil. After about 15 minutes asked for a side of butter when we finally got our waitress to stop by. That didn’t taste or look like drawn butter for crab either. Not sure what that was but not what we were used to, pictures attached. Asked for a manager, after another 20 minutes he showed up. Told him the issues, he said “I wouldn’t have even eaten crab without butter” oh, and that”oil” is our drawn butter. Asked about getting it comped or a dessert since she ate while I was eating. He took off half. So long story short. Don’t order the crab. Atmosphere is great on the water but wouldn’t recommend with all the different restaurants to choose from.
