Absolutely the best EVER! GREAT SERVICE, Great Good, Bar wine, Canyon Rd, yummy. After the hunk of Prime Rib, the huge Tomahawk Pork Chop w fine fried onions stacked on the chop, we were blown away! The oysters were great…I cannot stop dreaming abt this meal! Go early or eat at the tiki bar on the deck. You won’t be sorry but…$$$$s!

This is a great Sunday spot and date night spot! We sat for a few hours and enjoyed superb oysters and small plates – boom boom shrimp and crab flatbread pizza. We were not rushed and we wanted oyster shooters and asked about it. They did not have them but made them to order for us! Mmm mmm good! Thank you John and Robin!

I’m sorry to do this as I normally don’t review if I had a bad experience, but, this was not a great experience. My first visit was really good, however, this one was not. The service was great. The food was disappointing. Our app, tuna on chips with seaweed salad and a touch of oil was fantastic. My wife got scallops and while they were fresh, they could have stayed in the pan another minute. My grouper was still pink in the center and inedible. The outer parts were great and tasty but the inner part was borderline raw.

My husband and I have visited twice. Sunday late lunch hour is perfect for us. Not too crowded. Tito’s bloody Mary’s are great!! Although price on menu doesn’t match price on bill. Still no biggie because it is still under $10 which is hard to find any where else in Kent County. First time we had sandwiches and were satisfied. Second time Matt had the oyster sampler and Maryland crab soup. I went for the Ceasar salad with Jerk chicken. For dessert by far the BEST carrot cake ever!! It was actually a carrot pineapple cake Definitely found our Sunday cocktail spot!!

Really excited to have finally had a chance to try Blue Heron Oyster House on a recent visit to Rock Hall. We were unable to get in on a previous visit because we showed up too late and they were packed to the gills. This time we planned better and were so glad we did. The food is very good and while it feels upscale enough to be a good special occasion place, it isn’t overly fancy or stuffy. We tried the soup (crab soup and a lobster bisque), ahi tuna “nachos”, their selection of oysters for the day, and a few other small plates. Everything was very solid. Staff were very friendly and while extremely busy, were attentive and reasonably prompt with their service. Will definitely make it a standard place to go to on our annual visits to Rock Hall.

When visiting town on a sailing trip we stopped in at the blue heron on the recommendation of many locals as well as the great reviews. So much about this place could really be great but it’s overshadowed by some glaring issues unfortunately. The wait staff was friendly and attentive but we could definitely tell that we caught them at a busy hour so if we needed anything extra we really had to make an effort to gain their attention, no biggie. The wait time to get our food was rough, over an hour, and unlike other restaurants our children’s meals were not brought out early but rather with the rest of the entrees. To the waitresses credit, she did bring us some extra saltine crackers for the kids to munch after it had been quiet a bit of waiting. No crayons or anything to occupy the kids so just a note for families to come prepared for a wait. It seemed like other tables were getting served and cleared before we even got our food but maybe that was because we had 4 adults and 3 kids. For the food, we had the scallops, crab cake, Maryland crab soup, steak and chicken fingers. They flavor of the meals was good; however, everything but the crab cakes were really salty and my husband’s steak came out overcooked. The steak was fixed promptly when it was brought to the attention of the staff and they really did seem to be doing their best to provide good service. Lastly, the noise level indoors was ridiculously loud. We were taking my parents out for their 46th anniversary and were really hoping for a nice dinner environment but we had to yell over the noise. I wish I could say that we would be back because the staff was lovely but there was just too much going against this place to make a repeat visit.
