This place is one of the main reasons we bike the Banks-Vernonia trail. It’s pretty much our reward and treat at end of trail. Excellent food and desserts made fresh, and beers too. Their Mediterranean coffee is exceptionally good in boosting energy needed in returning trip. Services are excellent. A must stop place for us to eat and rest in Vernonia. Oh forgot to mention, they have indoor bike parking too!

Our first order of business in Vernonia was to get our Greek on, and where better to pop in for lunch than the Blue House Café? Blue is definitely the operative word when it comes to the interior décor: everything from the walls, to the seats, to the little bottles and glasses on the mantle over the counter share a deep, radiant cerulean hue that creates a nice, casual, welcoming ambiance. I like it.

The best Mediterranean restaurant in Oregon located in the beautiful little town of Vernonia. Every time I ride the Banks-Vernonia bike trail, we make it a priority to stop here. Love that they have a bike rack inside so you can watch your gear – they also have outdoor seating too which is great.

I’m rarely in the area and jumped at the chance to visit here again after several years including the pandemic. Overjoyed that they are still in business and thriving. Absolutely delicious Mediterranean food and pastries.I had the couscous platter with lamb and it was enough for lunch and dinner. Superb baklava. Friendly, efficient service. Highly recommended!

Great Mediterranean food in Vernonia. Street parking. Small Town. Seeing the bathroom art was worth the photo. And the Lavender ice tea was sweeet!

Food was good. I got the za’atar flatbread ($9) + salami ($1). Should have skipped the salami. It made the dish even more salty. Seems authentic, but I’m not an expert on Armenian(?) food. The pesto flatbread was good too. Also a bit too salty.

If you’re ever in historic Vernonia OR, be sure to have a meal in this former bank building. Great gyros with great service in a fun setting, indoors or outdoors. They’re motorcycle & bicycle friendly. 2 thumbs up!

Very happy that I stumbled upon this wonderful Mediterranean Cafe in Vernonia. The beef Gyro was delicious and loaded with fresh veggies, Dolmades perfect and Baklava fabulous – three fresh homemade varieties to choose from too. The Cafe smelled wonderful inside, very clean but I sat on the outdoor patio. Will visit again.

What a marvelous treat! Certainly didn’t expect this from a small logging based town! This gem is fresh, unique, and absolutely divine! Family based, experienced, and dedicated to deliciousness! Every single mouth watering morsel was heavenly, and the items suggested for me based on my needs were beyond my dreams, and perfect! The nice gentleman taking my order really listened and knew exactly what was best for me. I was able to enjoy multiple options as I traveled 11hrs by car. I now crave the food and love the ambiance and pride they have in their establishment. I am pretty sure everything on the menu is the best that can be offered, so pick anything and experience the taste bud explosion and delight! I can’t wait to try more each time I can make it by. Hours are short and kind of unusual, but don’t give up.. it’s worth the wait!
