It is absolutely ridiculous that this place is strictly 21+ even if you are 18-20, but SAYS THIS NOWHERE ONLINE. This rule is only communicated to you as you try to enter. So I spent $500 on a hotel booking at the connected hotel (put in bay resort and conference center) only to find out that I can’t use the pool. Despite there being no mention of this on the website or even at the front desk. I wish I didn’t waste my money on the hotel attached to this. They need to communicate their rules better instead of hiding them. Absolutely no reason that this rule shouldn’t be mentioned online.

Very fun place with great fishbowl drinks. Unfortunately, the weather was too chilly for the pool but the hot tub was large enough to accommodate everyone. DJ played a very diverse set of music that anyone could enjoy

I used to love this place. Now it’s gotten a little out of hand and a bit..ridiculous. My friends were inside, when I went to meet up with them I couldn’t bring a bag in. Which is fine, rules are rules, but it literally had a towel and sunscreen in it and I was fine with putting it in a locker. Second, the “security” at the door told me it was $50 to get in. When my friends were inside and paid nothing. Make it make sense. A total joke.

This is a massively loud rap music all day party. Do not bring children. It’s for the 20 somethings to drink and twerk. Go somewhere else if you are looking for a relaxing poolside experience.

1st the one good thing- the room we were in was updated. Now the bad. This was absolutely the loudest place on the entire island. Every local we talked to let us know it had that reputation. At around 930 they start the music and it is deafening. If your at the pool you can’t hear anyrhing. If in your room you can sorta hear each other and the TV. This continues till 10pm. By that time everyone is so drunk they take over where the music left off. We were awaken in the middle of the night every night by loud drunk people. Our last night we thought we’d have to call the cops or medic because of a drunken brawl in the room next to us. This place is NOT kid or family friendly and I will leave it at that!! When people are drunk by 12 it all goes downhill fast poolside. If you want a relaxing atmosphere , and to be able to relax poolside and be able to enjoy the pool find any other place on the island. Or go to Kelly’s Island.

Random Thoughts
The hotel, pool, and swim up bar are great for relaxation or partying or a combination of both. It is an enjoyable experience and a great getaway from the mundane. I would have even five starred this venue except for my two unpleasant billing issues. Hint! Use cash! Or credit only per order! Do not, I repeat, do not open a tab! I spent the day at this venue two different times one with seven people and once the five people each time more than half of us got over build and double build on our credit cards because we left it open. Although I definitely recommend enjoying the venue be on your guard do not trust them with your financial well-being.

Great place to drink and relax in the summer! A decent amount of kids but lively atmosphere and friendly service. Stayed sunny through the evening. Loved the hot tub too. Only drawback is they played a Nashville station with country music (yuck) and talking (yuck), but hey, you can’t please everyone and we still had a good time 🙂 pina colada was great.

This place does not care about the customers at all. They seem very money hungry. They have signs written in marker saying to keep windows closed and your lights down to a minimum because of mayflies. Not too hard to figure out that they want to keep energy costs down. Breakfast is only served on weekdays. Rooms are not soundproofed at all.

Bartenders have always been great at the Blue Marlin Tiki over the years busting out drinks for the masses. Being patient and cordial isn’t enough anymore. It takes one moment being yelled at from some hot-headed goatee bartender because he assumes when you didn’t tip in cash (+45% btw) and write it on the large credit card receipt. You have no right to offend a good paying customer (thousand each summer). In my 20years of personally owning and running bars, I’ve never seen such a display of childish behavior to one of your good people. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere for your ignorant outrage to a good patron. You’ve officially lost my business.
