I cannot stress how good this restaurant is. It is easily one of the top spots in Sussex County, if not one of the top spots in the State of Delaware. Always fresh, the seafood is amazing. Service is top notch. They work as a team to make sure you are taken care of. The main dining hall can get noisy, but outside (both front and back decks) are wonderful during the summer and fall. Highly recommend the blackened tuna.

Our family group of 14 reserved the back deck overlooking the marsh, which was lovely (tho brutally sunny from 4-6 pm). Food and service were amazing! Especially for the holiday. Stars were the rockfish (bites & broiled), raw & baked oysters, seafood stew, scallops, crab cakes, hush puppies & devilled eggs!

Arrived to a packed house. Wait was only 30 minutes. Appetizers, entrees and desert were well timed and everything was spot on. Our group had the calamari, fried green tomatoes, crab cakes, tuna, spaghetti and clam, fish and chips and Lobster cavatappi, as well as the bread pudding award winning key lime pie. Amazing all around. The spicy Margaritas are to die for and the service was attentive but not overbearing and the check came promptly. You can not go wrong with Blue Coast for dinner or any special occasion.

This place was lovely. Happy Hour with $1 oysters can’t be beat, service was so friendly and the vibe very modern but relaxed. We were 4 adults and 2 teens. Update: Came again 2 nights later and we were 6 adults and 5 teens. Still awesome.

This was kind of a mixed bag for me. My wife’s meal was fantastic, but I thought my meal and drinks were just bland and weak. The place is nice and the view is great, and the staff are pleasant enough. I just walked away with a feeling the that experience was simply “ok”, and at this point in my life I am looking for more bang for my buck. Going out to eat is not cheap, and so I really do hold restaurants to a high standard. One awesome bright spot: as others will say, try the deviled eggs. They are huge and really tasty.

While waiting for a table, the three of us went to the bar to grab a quick drink. We patiently waited to get served, but the bartenders seemed to be ignoring us and continued to serve other patrons who came to the bar AFTER us to also get drinks while they waited for a table. We were skipped three times. Both bartenders were aware of our presence. They made eye contact with us when we walked in and even pointed at us and whispered behind our backs while we were waiting. At no point were we rude or out of line. We eventually grew impatient, and I politely asked one of the bartenders if we could order drinks when he had a moment. The bartender seemed annoyed and replied, ‘Yeah, in a second.’ Five minutes went by, and you guessed it, we were skipped and he took an order from another patron. In total, we spent 15+ minutes at the bar without being served. At no point were they overwhelmed, and it seemed like they were refusing to serve us. At that point, our table was ready. We left the bar to be seated, and thankfully our waiter was great! He was courteous, respectful, and professional. Our food came out quickly, and our appetizers and entrees were delicious. Unfortunately, the tuna in my poke was frozen, but the waiter graciously took it back and gave me the choice of another dish on the house. I chose the fish fry and thoroughly enjoyed it. The signature cocktails could have been better, but I did not expect anything less. If not for the very unpleasant experience at the bar, I would have had a very pleasant evening. Both bartenders were unprofessional and made the restaurant as a whole look bad.

Excellent dinner! I was very impressed with all aspects of the meal. The service was great. There was a bit of a wait for a table, but it was well worth it. The soft shell crab entree was fantastic! Great wine list as well. I highly recommend this place.

The food and service were absolutely outstanding! The only thing that detracted from our dinner was the noise level in the dining room. We literally could not hear each other to hold a conversation. Its a small and obviously wildly popular restaurant and we will be back…but next time we will hold out for an outside table.
