I’ve never ate here before and I don’t think I’ll be back. The Ruben itself doesn’t taste bad it’s just my bottom bread is nothing but greasy mush and the sandwich kind off taste slimey . When ever I get a rueben from the Bronx deli or als famous deli I’ve never had that issue. The place was pretty dirty looking and no one was wearing a mask. On a positive note The owner was super friendly.

Most of the time “hole in the wall” diners are the secret spots for great food. In this case not at all. The place was disgusting. Very unclean. No mask, no gloves, dirty floors, crumbs and food particles everywhere, not just the counters..The gentleman who made my food, im guessing “Bob”, forgot to make my food so it wasn’t ready for pick up. I won’t be going there again.

Let’s start with the bad first – didn’t seem to have the best system for staying on top of orders, the cashier wrote down my order on a piece of paper that was never given to the cook (who was the owner) and as more people came flooding in, the more panicked and unstable he became. He began asking what toppings people wanted on the food they ordered by yelling loudly at them and kept shouting for everyone to be patient even though everybody was as cool as a cucumber. He was even yelling at the cashier a bit.

Two points on my visit I would like to address. First- $9.50 I was expecting a sub or large bread and just got a straight-up sandwich that I could have made from Walmart for 4$ all store bought ingredients from what I saw. The turkey I got was slimy and made the sandwich slide apart no matter how hard I tried to keep it together.

Not going to lie, I was skeptical of going. But it was ABSOLUTELY worth it! Can’t believe I’ve never been there before today. I live a mile away! Breakfast was so good, eggs scrambled perfectly on to a sandwich with freshly delicious bacon. Biscuits and gravy made just the way my boyfriend likes. Bob was so nice and has an awesome sense of humor for it being 4:30 am when we showed up. This is my new breakfast place when I’m either up way too late or wake up way too early! Don’t second guess, just go!

This was my first time here, and it was definitely worth skipping the fast food franchises to go here! The owners were very welcoming to me. I had their recommended corn beef sandwich and it was delicious! It was also served fast enough to eat on my 30 minute lunch break! I feel bad for the people on Grand River who miss this gem. This is definitely on my list of places to return to in the near future!
