In town visiting from Houston and this was a pleasant surprise. Never had Dominican and Japanese fused together. A great tag team duo. I had the Big Papi Roll and the El Carnal Roll. Definitely recommend both. I also had the CJ mule which had passion fruit

Bocao is a blended restaurant between Japanese and Dominican. It sounds weird but somehow they made it work well together. Where else can you get sushi, empanadas, hookah, cocktails, and Dominican music. The sushi offerings are vast and the cocktails/atmosphere is great for a night on the town. Service was mediocre but I was so into the pitcher of sangria and food it didn’t bother me much.

Went here last Saturday. The line was ridiculous which intrigued me. I was alone and. Just wanted to sit at the bar. My initial experience was they let certain people slide past the line which I found bias. However a extremely kind security guard found me a seat When the others didn’t seem to care. Once inside I will say the food and drinks were delicious. They had my favorite lychee martini which immediately leveled them up. Hookah was on point and I consider myself a hookah connoisseur. At 11 the restaurant turned into a lounge and they pick up all chairs at the bar. They were about to take the chairs myself and other guests were on while eating then they let us keep them until we were finished, which was the polite thing to do. I really enjoyed myself. I stayed for quite a while. I was all by myself and the atmosphere was not uncomfortable in anyway, and the DJ was lit! I do plan on returning and may even throw a birthday bash there.

Great spot to try new food. Got the massive sushi plate and it did not disappoint. Able to feed about 5+. Lots of options and the chef adds a couple options of his own so every item you order it’ll be different. Definitely going back. Music is loud so not the best place for little kids. Other then that. Food was amazing and a great place to try out.

BEWARE FOOD WILL BE FILLED with BUGS AND INSECTS. I wanted to support a Latino Business. When they brought me my meal, I noticed a bug crawling through the plate. I told my server about this, and they didn’t even apologize or offer a discount. TERRIBLE SERVICE!! The next day my friend also told me they got sick from the food consumed here. I’m assuming there kitchens are filthy! Save your money and don’t eat here!! I never leaves reviews, but want to save someone else from eating bug infested food . Wacala

I had some personal reservations since I’d never heard of the place and wasn’t 100% onboard with “fusion sushi” however, we were going to a Blue October concert nearby at the Fillmore and figured that we’d give this place a try. It was an absolutely wonderful food experience for us both! The food was fresh and flavorful and they DID have many more traditional raw sushi options which we partook of. The food was provided quickly, and the service was very friendly. If in the area, then it is my humble opinion that this is a highly recommended dining experience.
