About Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria
Considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati’s is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor.
Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940’s working in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago’s best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday.

So disappointed in the $43 Lou’s pizza that was just delivered tonight from the Bolingbrook store. I was so looking forward to this after a day of fasting for a medical procedure. Damn! I ordered the pizza to be cooked “well done” expecting a crispy charred crust. Nope. What was supposed to be a well done and crispy pizza order came as a limp soggy crust except for the very edges. Toppings slid right off.

We have always had a good experience here. The last order had a mistake and one of the pizzas was over cooked. But the immediately offered to make up for it with our next order. Very satisfied with the response and correction.

First time trying Chicago deep dish pizza, spinach and cheeses, delivery, it was ok. I don’t have high expectation, but I have better pizza. It tasted plain, more tomato, and crust was ok.

This was our first time ordering from Lou Malnati’s and we were excited to try it based on the reviews. Unfortunately our experience was not up to par. The main issue was the absence of toppings on our pizza. We ordered a large deep dish with Italian Beef and hot giardiniera with a butter crust. To our amazement the cost for this pie was 3 cents shy of $40… WOW. Now don’t get me wrong, I have no problem (maybe a little) with paying this much if the pie meets up to my expectations and when it comes to pizza those expectations are not that high. Good quality ingredients and amazing taste. Now it’s hard for us to judge either as our pizza and little to none of the ingredients we ordered. One would expect that every bite you take should have a taste of these items and I’d have to say that our pizza felt more like a cheese pizza than what we ordered. This was one of those experiences where you walk away feeling like you were ripped off and I HATE that feeling. I’m sad to say we were more than disappointed.

The Bolingbrook location is carry out and delivery only. We love the deep dish and thin crust pizzas. The Caesar salad is also good.

Good delivery. Ordered the Malnati’s salad and it came topped with baked salami bits. It does not taste like salami at all, which is a huge difference

Take out only but the pizzas are awesome. Must have for out of towners. Deep dish with cheese and giardiniera peppers.

Have been ordering from here more lately. I love the Chicago Classic Deep Dish. I recently tried the thin crust. After decades of eating here, I’ve actually never had it. It was very good! I ordered “well done” and the crust came out perfect (more crispy than soggy). I’ve ordered the thin crust 2 more times since I tried it a few weeks ago. Of course I ordered a deep dish too! I’ve ate at many of the locations throughout the years, but it’s been mainly delivery over the past 3 years. I cannot complain at all about the delivery versus the quality I’ve received at one of the sit down restaurants. It always comes nice and hot and within the quoted timeframes. I look forward to ordering again from here! Good change of pace from my typical thin crust pizza place Papa’s in Woodridge (which I also love)!

Service at other Lou Malnati’s have been impeccable. But for this particular location, food preparation has deteriorated. For a pizza place they should have added the small round plastic pizza saver in the middle of the pizza. This one small detail was missed, so I ended up with a thin crust pizza that looked like a soggy piece of cardboard with toppings. I had to scrape off the cheese that stuck on the box. This is not something I expected for a $40 pizza. I am not ordering from this location again.

First time going to this location, food was ready and on time, the food over all just wasn’t good as other locations Ive been. To the pizza was bland and the wings dry, salad was pretty good, just upset I paid 17.95 for order of 12 wings that were deff not worth it both the Buffalo and the BBQ were same…
