I brought my family here for a late evening dinner. We had heard that the food was delicious. We were not disappointed. We had outside seating, which was terrific. A bit chilly, but the heaters were handy and functioning well. The inside seating I observed was rather noisy, I was glad to be seated outside. We ordered posole, pork, Carnitas, watermelon, salad, blue corn, quesadillas, chips, and guacamole and salsa and lots lots more. Everything was served up Hot and delicious. We ordered up several cocktails, mine was a favorite ,their Moscow Mule. The service was excellent and we were very pleased at the evenings end.

Best fried fish tacos I’ve had in a while; perfectly crispy and succulent. The quesadilla with yam has great flavors and is good for kids. The charred beets make for great veggie tacos. Even the chips and salsa were fantastic. Overall, you can’t go wrong.

I always thought this place was more of a fine dining experience with tasting options, maybe bc the owner is from Chez Panisse. However, we ordered a bunch of stuff and all the appetizers were pretty big portions. For a Michelin reco’d spot this place is really nice.

We made reservations and visited on a Friday night. The outside patio was lovely and definitely the best place to sit, but got chilly once the sun went down. They have outside heaters though.

Holy Mexican! This place rocks!! Sat down at 5:30 p.m. without reservations on a Thursday. Was able to get a table on the patio under the cafe lights and Mexican flag banner. As you walk up to this restaurant, it has all the happy feels from the colors to the cafe lights to the indoor lighting coming through the windows to the flowers to the overall decor around the bar and open kitchen, as well as down to the the plates and gold knobs in the restrooms…I’m talking every last detail! I love this kind of stuff and very appreciative that the owners took the time to think this through. It was calling me in!!!

We booked a month in advance and it was well worth the wait. Bombera is in the Dimond District, but tucked away off the main street MacArthur. The converted fire house makes for great outdoor seating wrapped around the entire building. We came with 5, though our reservation was for 4, and they quickly accommodated. As the evening grew colder the outdoor heat lamps provided great ambience for our outdoor dining. We ordered the duck confit, shrimp tacos, swordfish, and queso fundido. The duck looked and smelled amazing (not my dish), but the rice, bean, and salsa combo was so delicious. My swordfish was tasty, despite being slightly over cooked on the outside, and I’ve only heard that the (huge) shrimp tacos were amazing. The free chips and guacamole was a nice touch.

Bombera is excellent! The food is all top notch. I want to try everything on the menu. All of the dishes I tried were some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. The drinks from the bar are also excellent. The dishes are somewhat on the ‘small plate’ side but, that is fine because you want slow down and enjoy every bite. If you can get one, reservations are recommended… Enjoy!
