Border Grill was founded in 1997 with the goal of bringing a fresher, healthier alternative to the restaurant spectrum in Marquette. Clearly, the market was ready for “real” food in our fast-casual” format, as we have grown to four locations serving the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is very gratifying for all of us at Border Grill to hear the passion that our guests have about our restaurants.

I am a regular here and have always had great experiences with both the food and staff. They are all genuinely kind people. I was unfortunately in the restaurant at the same time today as another customer who was clearly unhappy and demanding refunds, etc. The staff member being berated handled it quickly and treated her with professionalism. The customer service here used to be exceptional. They don’t provide an accurate wait time for the food anymore though. And it’s sometimes almost an hour wait for food which is absurd for take out Mexican food.

The place was clean and well staffed. We ordered our food and brought our dog into the outdoor seating section. Just when we thought they were going to ask us to remove our pet, they instead brought out a dog bowl full of water and gave her a dog bone. Outstanding touch of class and service. We came at 5:30 and waited 45 minutes. I dont think they were prepared to be as busy as they were. We knew they were slammed and we get it but the food was awful. Had it been hot or good the wait would have been fine. I had a chicken bacon quesadilla and you could tell it was sitting getting cold and it was just not good.
