Used to come here in college under the old family owners and loved the food, especially the fries. Stopped by to order lunch on a busy work day, when I got to work and opened my food there was white human hair mixed into my salad and the meat was well over cooked. When I informed the owner of this health issue, he refused to provide a refund for hair in the food. This used to be a great family owned restaurant with friendly, thoughtful service, but this customer service experience has put me off of BHOP.

I love this place. The owner is extremely nice and my pepperoni pie was exactly the “Boston-style” pizza I enjoyed during my last stay in Boston over 30 years ago! Yeah, there’s good pizza on the North Side but this joint’s pie was comfort pizza at its best.

Pizza wasn’t particularly great for the price, but I enjoyed it. I loved the crust. However, two things stood out. The warm, friendly service and more specifically the cookies. I grabbed one of their chocolate chip cookies because it looked like it might be good. Oh boy, it’s incredible! Perfectly baked, chewy and chocolatey. Amazing!

I went here for lunch, and was going to order a lunch plate. Instead of fries, I wanted rice, which was not on the menu. I asked if they had rice on the off chance that rice was an option. The guy behind the counter said, “no, what do we look like, a Chinese restaurant?” He had said this to an Asian individual. I left without ordering, and will never go back
