Don’t be alarmed if you come in and don’t see a staff member for 5 minutes– the owner is probably cooking and will speak to you once the food comes out. The owner is also the host, waiter, bartender, and chef. If you understand that and are patient, you’ll be rewarded with a delicious and authentic meal for a very reasonable price. We were in and out in less than an hour on a Sunday night.

We found this gem of a restaurant – wow. The food is amazing. Just 3 miles off the highway- definitely worth the short jaunt.

Due to possible rumors spread by people in the community… (likely untrue so please read thenither reviews and observe the pictures because this place has been totally revamped in recent years and could use some business. Its a bit secluded on east lincoln near Scaeffer auto body so mostly only people from or going to nevada know of it but its there and hard to miss.)

Visiting from out of town, every entree we ordered was amazing. Keep in mind it’s just one guy doing everything so it won’t be fast. But waiting it out is well worth it!

Slow service because the owner is the server, bartender, and chef running a solo operation. Once your food does come though, it’s phenomenal. Well worth the wait for such great flavors. Plus the atmosphere is really vibrant and the owner is super nice.

Food was delicious but took 3 hours to complete the meal. The proprietor was very kind but wore all the hats from host to cook. A notice of how long it might take at the beginning of the meal would help immensely.

Phenomenal food! Everything is delicious. The food does not arrive quickly, but it is well worth the wait. Bring some friends, relax, and enjoy good conversation and a wonderful meal. Try the dessert! Seriously, this is one of the best places to eat in Ames. So good!!!!!!!!!!

loved it! Slow service because it’s just the owner making all the food by himself but his food was unbelievably good. You can also order ahead to alleviate the long wait. But the wait is well worth it! awesome vintage atmosphere and the owner is friendly

We waited a while – only one man working the kitchen and tables, we were the only customers – but it was most certainly worth the wait. Super impressed, exceptional flavor. Brought me back to my childhood days eating fresh arepas cooked by a Colombian woman my friends hosted while she taught at our school. Definitely worth stopping here!

This restaurant is insanely good!! I found it very impressive how one person is running the whole show (attending the table, cooking the food, etc.). Because of that, it is a long wait, but very worth it! This place deserves more love. Would highly recommend and he gives you A LOT of food!
