I visited Bowdies for the first time recently. I have been trying to get here since 2018 ish, as I work in Lansing, but l commute over an hour to work and am usually rushing to make it home after working all day. I’m glad I finally made it here! The service was great! I had the filet with mashed potatoes and a side of greenbeans! My steak and sides were good. I also tried the shrimp bisque, which was also good. However, I had the crab cake appetizer, and it was amazing! I’ve tried crabcakes in a lot of restaurants, even in Maryland, and this was hands down thee best crabcake I’ve ever eaten! I’ll be back!

Service, food and service. We took our 14 year old twins for dinner tonight for their birthday. Right out of the gate the service was impeccable, with perfect wine, drink and appetizer recommendations. Get the crab cake, no get two. The beef barley soup was rich and had the perfect amount of beef in well-proportioned chunks. The deviled eggs were good. Steaks were cooked perfectly to order, and the quality of the beef was superb. Exactly perfect crust on the filets made them flavorful with and without the accompaniments. Fries were hot and crisp! The carrot cake was rich and light at the same time. I have been to nearly every quality restaurant in the area, and I have never enjoyed a meal as well prepared and served as this one. Again, the service made the meal all the better. Our waitress took the time to ask about our preferences, gave full attention to our kids as patrons and took the standard of service above and beyond our expectations.

This is one of the finest restaurants in Lansing MI. It is our go to for special occasions. We love to sit at the bar. The staff are very attentive and engaging. The Tomahawk and Lobster Mac and cheese are our favorites due to great flavor and portions. We easily shared the Tomahawk between 3 of us and the Lobster Mac and cheese between 5 of us. Be sure to make reservations a head of time. If more than 4 in your party I suggest you call to make reservations as opposed to Open Table.

My wife and I went with high expectations and we were not disappointed. The staff is top notch and well informed on the menu. The specialty drinks are a nice change of pace, I had the Pablo sour, my wife had a margarita or two. I can’t recommend the Pablo sour enough. Just about all the steaks are shareable depending on how much you eat, as are some of the other items on the menu like the lobster mac and cheese which was very good. Primarily this is a steakhouse and they do have USDA prime cuts of meat, I believe I did see a fish entree and possibly a chicken entree, but it’s a steakhouse! Get the steak. And the lobster mac and cheese. They did have some other items on the menu that we would have loved to try, but didn’t have room for. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because tables are very close together so it’s a bit crowded. We definitely will be going back to try some of the items we missed.

I highly recommend this dining experience. The space itself is very small and intimate but welcoming. The steak (Cowboy Ribeye) was delicious, juicy and enough to feed 2 people. One of THE best steaks I’ve eaten in years. I’m not a huge lobster fan, however; I would order their lobster Mac n cheese again and again. Delicious!!! Their asparagus and mushrooms were cooked to perfection. The only reason I didn’t give them a 5 star review is because of their augratin potatoes and the salad. I can’t honestly tell you how the potatoes taste as the presentation was so far off for me that I couldn’t get myself to taste it. It came out in to pie cut shape slices, it was thick, looked a little dry and just not appetizing. The salad was delicious (I ordered the grilled caesar salad) but I wasn’t expecting the lettuce to be grilled and come out as two huge wedges. I don’t want to work that hard to eat a salad.
