Born in Foggia, Italy, Lucio “Lou” Bozzelli co-founded with his brother, Tony, what was originally known as “Bozzelli’s Brothers Deli. Their business philosophy was simple: SERVE. GOOD. FOOD. Initially, the menu was limited to cold Italian sub sandwiches because they could not afford a grill. Through word of mouth, the only form of advertising the believed in, their business started to grow and as their budding operation improved they expanded the menu to include hot food like steak subs and pizza. Lou’s brother, Tony, continued to operate the business after Lou’s passing in 1989. To honor Lou’s legacy, his wife and children looked to the stars for inspiration–hence, the spaceman–and relaunched the shop and have now grown to five stores.

Great little pizza spot. My wife and I went in looking for pizza by the slice, which they don’t have. We split a 10” pepperoni and it was great. Fantastic tasting, piping hot, and crispy bottom. Someone else had the wings, and they looked incredible. I would go back. I also suggest Bozelli’s if you’re looking for a quick bite.

Got the Beyond Melt and it was delicious, especially for a plant-based sandwich! The Mango Madness smoothie wasn’t bad either, but the banana definitely overpowers the flavor of anything else.

I’m sorry to say this but the food is trash. There is no other way to say it. The pizza is equivalent to a store brought microwave pizza. The wings are saggy and just unappetizing. I don’t understand how anyone can give this food a good review. If you have any sense of taste please stay away. This food is trash. Absolute trash. Dominos pizza is top notch compared to this.

I am allergic to wheat, milk, and a few other things. They checked stuff for me on labels, and I had an Island Time on gluten free crust with vegan cheese. It was pretty yummy! I rarely get a pizza with ‘cheese’ on it so this was a nice treat!

Great little eat-diner with counter service and super friendly employees. Pizza is easy quickly and came out hot and crispy… drinks available from the cooler, no alcohol. Very well air-conditioned and a great place to take a breather from the DC summer heat! 🙂

We were honestly shocked, in a good way, at how good the food was. We ordered the Fugetaboutit pizza and loved it. Good amount of toppings. Flavorful sauce. Delicious crust. We also ordered the Metro Italian sub and enjoyed it more than similar options from chain restaurants. The staff was friendly, and we enjoyed watching TV while we ate.

Good pizza place near the tourist area. The prices were good as well. A group of four shared a large pepperoni pizza (well done), buffalo wings, meatball sub combo (came with fries and a drink), and the garlic bread. We were full and had leftovers.
