As a KC native for 25 years, I was dreading seeing Davis Donuts close up. BUT, Breaking Bread is just as AMAZING! The owners are super attentive and cordial to their customers. They offer FREE ice water which is a thing of the past, unless you ask nowadays. I would’ve given them 5 stars but they’re lacking a gluten-free menu, right now.

Breaking bread delivers the best breakfast sandwiches and pastries in North Idaho. I make a point to stop in at least once per week. This restaurant is super clean, well organized, and the team there always greets you with a smile. I highly recommend the Bavarian Davsont which is quite delicious and unique along with their Green Eggs and Ham, which features a house made English muffin, eggs sunny side up, bacon/ham, and an awesome pesto sauce. They have a much bigger menu but this is what I usually get.

Went to Breaking Bread for the 1st time this afternoon & I am fully impressed! I was able to call ahead and put my order in before driving the pass into cda. My food was ready on the dot for the time I asked for it to be ready. I bought some donuts for my kids, and a cpl panini’s to share. The spicy cilantro chicken focaccia sandwich was very flavorful, super yummy..

Came in for the first time just looking to try the pastry’s, place is very clean and nice decor, staff was super friendly as well. Pastries tasted as good as they looked and I couldn’t stop myself from getting a bowl of soup after all the smells hit my nose. The soup was delicious and gave my homemade soup a run for its money. Definitely worth checking out if in the area!

The irony of a restaurant that relies on publicly funded streets to operate talking negatively about socialism on their sign is hilarious.

Small and quaint but what an incredibly delicious meal that makes me yearn for much more. I had the Cáprese Panini and it was THEE best sandwich I’ve ever had. I’ve traveled all over the PNW and consider my palate sophisticated. What a gem! I’m buying several more to take bake home. The bread and pastries were just as magical. I bought the cranberry/orange muffin and monkey bread… exquisite all around. Do yourself a favor and don’t miss the lovely family owned culinary delight.

We’ve just had the pastries. And… They’re really good. The people are great, and the place is spotless. I could go there every day but the waistline can’t take it, so I have to budget my time. We haven’t had lunch yet but we plan too.

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The panini was delicious and the pastries (we had the Bavarian cream and raspberry croissant donuts as well as the Coeur d’Alene roll) were exquisite in appearance, flavor, and texture. My wife and I both agreed they were the best we’ve had anywhere.

Stopped in for a little bite and ended up getting a bowl of soup. The soup was very good, but the roll served with it was disappointing. The baked goods looked really good, but I didn’t get anything this time. I will come again to try some baked goods and 10/10 would recommend the soup.
