Brenda’s on Broadway is a delightful dining spot in Oakland! I had their delicious fried chicken, and my companion enjoyed their tasty pasta. The food was absolutely scrumptious, and we had a great time during our visit.

Food was great. Fried chicken was crispy and juicy. Flaky biscuit and the Red beans and rice was perfect. Strawberry lemonade good as well. The staff very pleasant and attentive. Choice of indoor and outdoor dining. Definitely recommend.

Not what I expected from a Creole restaurant. I tried the place twice. Both times they forgot to bring my Beignets so I had to back them and eat them at home where they were no longer fresh or as good as they should have been They were also a little heavier than I expected. The food is very expensive for rather small portions ( shrimp and grits) the mimosa was too sweet (Berry flavors) and too expensive. And no champagne glass. The food was mediocre at best. Bacon was not good. The banana foster was too sweet. And everything came out separately and not very hot. One thing that really bothered me was not being properly greeted by the blue hair hosted both times. And not seeing any black staff in the front of the restaurant and all Latinos in the back. Where is the black staff? When you are serving southern food in Oakland. All white hipsters’ really? gentrification is real. I will not return.

Seriously good food. Maybe one of the best Benedicts I’ve had. Went back again and I have to say although the food is great the service is terrible. The staff are very friendly, they’re just not very on it when it comes to table service. Like get a host.

I absolutely loved this place and their food. I ordered the shrimp and spicy grits, and they tasted just like the ones that I ordered when I was in New Orleans. My family also ordered some Po’boys that had sausage, and another ordered the vegan items. They were all so delicious. I highly recommend this place if you’re in the Oakland area. It was super good.

The shrimp and grits are very tasty! The cornbread and gravy are both fantastic. Thick but not too thick, lots of flavor. The fried chicken is very crispy. I would avoid the tofu sloppy Joe next time. Also the spinach is a little too salty. Overall good experience and I like that they have small sized sides so we can try many different things.shrimp
