Really wanted to give this location 5 stars. The original shop on Mason seemed to be more about the BBQ. Prices here are very high, but the portions are good. Meat is seasoned well, smoked well and tastes good. It just wasn’t warm/hot enough. I understand it won’t be fresh off the pit, but chicken, brisket, and ribs were all room temperature. We went at 5 pm on a Wednesday. I would try everything again in hopes of a better experience.

Been enjoying this fantastic BBQ since the early days on Mason. Being able to sit down with family and enjoy amazing local food while an Astros game is on at the bar – perfection! Yes, it is expensive, but eating out anywhere is these days – definitely worth a try if you love brisket (in burger or traditional form)

Decided to go here as a great smell wafted across the street. Unfortunately, the smell outside was the best part of our visit.

I’m in no way a brisket type guy but this place was recommended to me by a good friend and let me tell you, it did not disappointed.

Stopped in to pick up some lunch to go. The restaurant was very empty on a Sunday afternoon. There were only two customers in line when I arrived. I came in requesting two sliced beef sandwiches but they were totally out. Go Figure. I had to settle for chopped beef sandwiches. The chopped beef sandwiches were good.

First of all, any menu you find online for this place is not the actual menu. Their prices are posted and they are not cheap Secondly, why not have a price for plates instead of selling everything separately? Maybe one person can not eat a lbs of pork ribs on their own ?! The loaded potato did not have chives and the chopped brisket in the bbq sauce they poured over it taste like it had been sitting on pot over fire for a while because it tasted burned.— but it was not burned. The pork ribs were overpowered by black pepper or what ever spice they use that it was the only thing we could taste. Mac and cheese is ok and so was the prime brisket, we didn’t get any bread or were offered any. Maybe you had to buy the bread separately. The watermelon limeade was way too sweet and tarty I had to pour water in it. A $60 meal for two which we could not eat because it was not flavorful. Someone did asked how everything was.. I had no words.

EDIT 4/14/23: lowering my rating as I went back with my dog again and they are no longer allowing pets on their patio (I brought my 8 lb dog for my initial visit).

Had high hopes but ended up being disappointed. I tried the Thursday lunch special which was brisket enchiladas. Served barely warm. Gummy tortillas and tough brisket. The overall flavor was taco seasoning. At least that’s what it reminded me of. Tots were under cooked and so greasy. $37 for a sandwich, enchilada and one tea. To pricy for poor food. Won’t be back

I’ve been wanting to eat at Brett’s for a while now, but have been waiting for the new location to open up. I happened to be in Katy this morning and decided today was the day. My wife and I arrived about 15 minutes before opening and several people were waiting in their vehicles because it was raining. With about ten minutes to go people started to line up even though it was raining. When we got inside we were greeted with a nice smokey smell and a beautiful new restaurant. We ordered one pound of brisket, a sausage, and small sides of coleslaw, potato salad, and Mac and cheese. We also got bread, pickles, and pickled peppers and vegetables on the side. The brisket was a nice mix of lean and moist. The brisket was well smoked and the moist was about perfect. The lean was very good, but not “Corkscrew good”. The sausage was awesome! It is a course ground, in-house sausage that ranks with some of the very best. All of the sides dishes were above average, but with a twist. We especially liked the coleslaw. It was made with red cabbage and onions, carrots, and jalapenos in a vinaigrette dressing. I definitely want to go again, this is a top notch BBQ joint. Next time I would probably pass on the pickles and peppers, and want to try the pork belly because it looked awesome. The experience was great overall, but a bit on the expensive side. We paid about $60 for the two of us, and had extra brisket and sides to take home to my son (he was very appreciative).
