We like the Bristol in Jeffersonville almost as much as the location on Bardstown Road in Louisville. The food and full bar are very good. The service is excellent, our server was tops. However, we reserved a window table and on arrival were told none were available. We were seated a table away from the windows. During our entire meal we observed at least a half dozen window tables remained empty. As we were leaving I politely voiced our displeasure and the receptionist explained that they have no way to know that people cancel or just no-show. Of course that doesn’t explain why we weren’t offered the opportunity to be re-seated. The reservation system seems lacking as does the utter lack of initiative… We’ll remember this when selecting restaurants in the future…

This particular location is not one we will revisit. The wait staff left much to be desired. Took a while before we even saw anyone smile, for goodness sake. Later, staff was having such a good time with one another they were laughing and talking very loudly all across the restaurant-very unprofessional. The view from our table was great. The fact that staff came around us and drew the loud shades non-stop was a pain and very intrusive while we were trying to enjoy our time. The salad was very bland and nothing to enjoy, but I know it’s just a salad. The waiter then brought bread. Nice and hot but again, no flavor and bland. The food was edible but nothing special. The shrimp was tough and sparse. (Since it was tough, that was ok.)

Came here on a Friday night and was one of six tables that were occupied in the whole restaurant. Service was okay and food was okay, but not worth the overall price of the bill. Makes you think when all of the restaurants around this place are packed on a Friday night. A beautiful night in fact, to sit on the patio. Something has got to give. I’m not sure how they are still in business from what I witnessed tonight.

There is only 2 good things I can say. The view is magnificent and our server was wonderful. We had just checked in less than an hour ago, and decided to check out this restaurant. It was a bad vibe as our hostess was not friendly. Our table was not set, and we had to pull our flatware, napkins salt and pepper from another table. Our drinks were slow to come to our table and when our appetizer came, the cheese plate, it had moldy grapes. When the main meal came our shrimp and scallop dinner, the scallops where not cooked through. When we returned Our appetizer our serve was kind, and went to the manger. The dinner we sent back, you would expect the manager to come out to us. The manager could not be bothered with us, and made the server deal with us. A steak sandwich served open face means a small strip steak half cooked perfect the other half overcooked. Open faced sandwich means the tiny piece of meat placed on a piece of bread. So NOT WORTH THE 75 DOLLAR BILL. McDonalds would have been a heck if alot better.

3 weeks ago we went approx. at 1:30 pm. I ordered the Chili wontons. They were over cooked and the cheese was cooked out of them. At a price point of $11. for the order you would think that they would have better quality. The waitress gave a replacement and they were perfect. So, we thought we would give another try yesterday. Again they came out over cooked and no cheese in them. I told the waitress that I was done and don’t bring me new ones. It was approx. the same time of day. I bet they cook them earlier and then refry them later? It is over priced. However, when they are done correct they are GREAT. I have never had this problem at the other locations. If they have an executive chef they need to have a talk with the chef. If not never mind you get what you get

The quality of this Bristol really seems to have declined. Our recent visit may be our last. Inattentive wait staff and mediocre food are not a good combination. My guest’s steak was overcooked and served with ice cold sides. How do you screw up mashed potatoes? At least the green chile wontons were still good!

Sunday Brunch was a huge disappointment. Biscuits were small and hard as a brick. Two kinds of gravy…sausage and without sausage…both so obviously from a mix. Dried out French toast. Grits the consistency of stiff mashed potatoes. Not a very enjoyable experience for $16 a person. Golden Corral would have been a better choice.

Had family in town for the weekend and we decided to park at the Big Four Bridge on the KY side and walk across to the Bristol there in jeffersonville on the river. The Sunday brunch was very good. Several of the girls working the buffet were very attentive and seemed to really loved their jobs. We look forward to taking more friends there and walking the Big Four. It was such a unique experience and not something our guests had ever done before.

Wedding Party of 7. My New York strip steak was over cooked.Quality of meat was very questionable. Both baked potatoes served at our table were UNDER cooked.Salads showed signs of being frozen at one time. Our server was excellent, but Bristol’s needs to vastly improve on their Chef and line cooks.DO NOT THINK I WILL DINE THERE AGAIN!!!
