About Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria
Considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati’s is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor.
Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940’s working in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago’s best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday.

We ordered a deep dish pizza on Thursday and loved it so much that we ordered it again last night. Both nights hubby and I were exhausted, mentally drained and both times Dennis took our order. He didn’t rush my order or sounded annoyed by the chaotic noise in the background. He was patient, friendly and kind. I love good customer service but more than that I love consistency and the experience was over the top for us. It really goes a long way when you’re kind and it made our day. Thanks Dennis! Shout out to the person who made our pizza, it was delicious

My pizza-loving family visited the Chicago area and looked forward to a real Chicago deep dish having loved it from a past visit. I researched “best deep dish pizzas” and Lou Malnati’s seemed to be on many lists and this one was near our VRBO so we gave them a try. Our overall reaction: “meh”. This pie was just too runny and filled with mostly tomato-y paste than the thicker, gooey and cheesier pie that I recall from our Giordano’s pizza. We wish we would’ve order from that place.

Recently the delivery driver did not follow instructions and had an attitude problem when explaining he was refusing to deliver as instructed.

I was very disappointed in the 2 large cheese pizzas ordered in October ’22 to celebrate my birthday with family.. We received 2 pizzas with tomatoes and dough. No kidding. The cheese was almost non-existent. I wanted to drive back and return them but it was too much of a hassle. My guests and myself are all lon time Lou Malnoti fans. This occassion, everyone commented the Broadview location pizzas were a huge, unexpected disappointment. How could there be no cheese on a signature pizza? 80 dollars for 2 pizzas and large salad. The salad was perfect. The pizzas a bust. I will never frequent the Broadview location again.
