First time stopping in could be overwhelming, before you get seated you go up and get your food. I recommend getting what’s on the “line” for the day. It works like a cafeteria. Choose from a couple of meat options and many sides. Then pay, get your drink, and seat yourself. The chicken fried steak was phenomenal! The mac n cheese and cucumber salad were just as good, if not better than the chicken fried steak. If I wasn’t just passing through I’d be a regular.

Brocato’s is a wee bit different. When you hear the name, you think Italian restaurant, I’ll take the wife out for dinner! Surprise! They’re only open for breakfast and lunch five days a week, closed weekends. And, the menu is more home cooking than Italian. But, the format works for them and the food is wonderful. I had a muffuletta and my wife had a shrimp poboy. Yep! It’s a “come back” kinda place. I’m definitely going to be here on a Wednesday for lunch in order to try the Chicken Fried Steak, my favorite meal.

Maybe I’m just to cajun for Alexandria BC back home in Lafayette the food is always seasoned and flavorful but NOT HERE !!! Very disappointed first & last time trying this place. Fried Shrimp was bland no seasoning what so ever. Fountain drinks were also HORRIBLE !!! COKE TASTED FLAT someone changed the coke but it still was gross so probably the machine is dirty and old or it’s the ice either way it’s nasty. Definitely wouldn’t recommend eating here. I can cook better than this place just being real. Staff was okay.

Real food here. Daily specials are on the blackboard and they have menu items too. The fried chicken was done just right. Only negative here is Faux News on the tv with the volume up. Otherwise yes this is the place to bring people from out of town.

One of the best breakfast places in America and I travel all over the US for work. I haven’t eaten lunch here but the menu changes daily. A meat and 3 shifted buffet lunch. Looks great highly recommend.
