Butter Upon Bacon is truly a neighborhood gem! The service is always excellent- very friendly. The thought and love that goes into each dish is outstanding. Geena and Gerry truly love what they do and it shines through on the plate. Most recently, we tried the gumbo, Scrooge McDuck Melt, and the Caramel-Apple Burger. The gumbo had the perfect amount of heat and excellent flavor. We will be buying this in a much larger size next time! The Scrooge McDuck Melt- while you cannot taste the photo, trust me that every bite was amazing. The duck confit was perfect. The Caramel-Apple Burger truly unique and all the ingredients work so well together. This is a must try! RUN- DON’T walk to Butter Upon Bacon! You will NOT be disappointed!

Butter Upon Bacon (inside Rock Island Public House) is definitely worth the trip to Blue Island. Gerry and Gina take the idea of “upscale bar food” kick it up a notch. The food is delicious and unique. I’ve turned my whole family into regulars for brunch and dinner. Order anything, you can’t go wrong.

Must try hidden Gem. Food is delicious I always get the THC Hot and I am never disappointed. And the desserts they have are to die for. You also have to try Chefs Gerry’s Gumbo. And why not have a delicious beer to accompany your meal.

It was a blustery Tuesday afternoon when i stopped into Rock Island Public House to cool my heels for a spell. I was immediately greeted with a warm hello from Butter Upon Bacon’s Gerry. He served me up a gumbo and a burger with a quickness and skill i rarely see in action. It was truly a memorable experience that I wont soon forget.
