First time going to this restaurant. Fist Impressions, was nice and clean, a bit of a small location. and the price for the food is a little on high side. After trying the food. I realized that this is a good place for BBQ, even though I went kinda late, on Memorial day and they where out of a few things. I had the Ribs, they where tender and juicy. Also i have had Fried Zucchini, (which i love) but they had fried pickles and they where not bad. The customer service was excellent, very friendly and accommodating, they had a high chair for my daughter and me and my family had a great meal. Even when my little girl made a huge mess they did not want us cleaning it up. I would definitely recommend this place if you like BBQ

This BBQ place was clean, everything was. neatly organized. The waitress/cashier was nice and friendly. There was not a long wait, food was out shortly after we ordered. The drink and sauce area were well kept. Place was nice and quiet to have a conversation with a friend. Overall the presentation and location was great.

I’ve been going to Bubba’s in La Jolla for a while and decided to try out their Chula Vista location. It was pretty emtpy at night and the guy at the front counter was cheerful and helpful. Food was great, had the pulled pork, brisket and baby back ribs. Their BBQ sauce is on the sweet and tangy side. Overall a great place to eat for ribs!

If you are a true BBQ connoisseur or just appreciate good ribs, this place will disappoint. First off not only did I not taste a lick of hickory smoke flavor in their ribs as stated, there was NO smoke aroma in this place at all. Due to the color of the bones and the lack of a smoke ring on the meat, my guess is that they boil and finish by baking.

Only giving this two stars because the employees were so friendly and welcoming. I’ve never spent $15 on a more dry plate of BBQ. The sauce was great, but couldn’t make up for the poor quality of the meat. It was so tough. We went later at night and you could definitely tell it wasn’t fresh in the slightest sense of the word. If it weren’t for the employees, it wouldn’t get any stars from me. Absolutely horrendous for the price.

I had the pulled pork sandwich. I would have given a the restaurant a five star review but the side I chose was coleslaw and the SMALL cup was only half full. I don’t know if the restaurant was running low on slaw (they were running low on quite a few items) but had I paid $2.99 (the price for a side) for such a mall serving of slaw I would have given the place a zero. The sandwich was large and loaded with meat, the sauce was excellent – only the side was a disappointment. I do plan to return and if served such a small side again I plan on saying something.

Decided to come to this place on a whim. They were out of the tri tip and brisket so I went with the full slab of pork ribs, mac & cheese, baked beans and the wife & I split some frickles and fried okra. The sides & starters were awesome and the ribs were absolutely AMAZING!!! Slow cooked and not dry at all. Perfectly sauced and the sauce was very choice. The meat was falling off the bone. I tore them bad boys up. Great customer service and I love their design and music. Limited seating so getting there early is a good idea. I will definitely be back for the rest of the menu items. I hear the tri tip, brisket and bread pudding are all amazing. Can’t wait to try em all!!
