Buck’s has the best pizza in our area. There are some places closer to us, but the drive is worth it. A previous review was critical of the bulletin board, so I reviewed it while I was waiting for my pizza yesterday. It’s hard to believe that someone would be offended by what is posted on it, as almost everything has been proven true over time.

The pizza was very good and salads decent. However, prices were not as listed on the menu posted at the restaurant nor online, and were not told this until we went to pay upon pick up. The guy then proceeded to yell at the lady behind the counter about the pricing and said to us as customers that he would take the price difference out of her paycheck. Just a very uncomfortable situation and very unprofessional.

While the food was good and the workers were pleasant, I can’t help but complain about the bulletin boards across from the register. The boards were littered with right wing propaganda (see photo). The message this sends to customers is that not everyone is welcome at this establishment. I would highly recommend taking these images and messages down. It might be free speech, but it’s offensive and not representative of the broader community of Tryon. I won’t return to this restaurant and do not recommend it to others.

The pizza was palatable, and their customer service throughout the ordering process is good. Polite & friendly. What I don’t like about this business is that there’s a fervent hyper-patriot thing going on in window out front, or the billboard inside. One example is an image portraying Trump as a person to revere, while simultaneously portraying Biden as a president to be ashamed of. Politics aside. Trump has always been villainous morally bankrupt scum, and portraying him as anything admirable is a problem for me. Pizza would’ve had to have been the best I’ve ever had for me to consider returning. Politics mixed with pizza will be the downfall of this business, because the pizza aint good enough to compensate for the propaganda you’ll encounter picking it up. Way to alienate 50% of a customer base.
