Food was ok, service was really polite and patient though. Sauce and cook is key in bbq, sauce was basic tasting, and the cook was average. wings were a little tough. Thankfully the food wasn’t over salted, which I appreciate because a lot of bbq places over do it with salt, but could use more seasonings. Got fresh free hush puppies while we sat and ate our meal. Prices were very reasonable though.

The BBQ pork sandwich, with slaw on top, is always excellent. The menu inside is a bit confusing. The menu board includes Pork Sandwich Combo (large or small sandwitch), with a picture of Fries and a Soda. It was assumed, like most other restaurants, that was what constitutes a “combo.” I also asked for the two large pork sandwiches to be topped with slaw. Well, what I received was two large sandwiches, two sides of slaw and two soft drinks (no fries). The total for the order was $19.07. Seemed a bit expensive but it was good. I have learned to ask more questions and wanted to pass along my lesson.

AVOID BUDDY’S!!! Cool place with excellent service and terrible food. Absolutely the worst barbecue I have ever eaten. I had trouble giving it one star, zero would have been more appropriate. My brisket was sliced as thin as paper. Each piece was half fat, half mystery meat. My son’s pulled pork looked (and he said tasted) like sawdust. Was flavor an extra cost or add on, like the hush puppies, at Buddy’s?? Each dinner comes with 12 teeny-tiny French fries, so small that they wouldn’t feed a crow. Some diners have called Buddy’s ‘the McDonalds of Barbecue’ but that is doing a terrible disservice to McDonalds. On the flip side, the ice tea is GREAT!!

We had a quick easy meal. There were four of us one child three adults. The food was okay. Not exactly what I would call barbecue but it was okay. I had the baked potato with pork and it fit my needs. The brisket kind of seemed like it was lunch meat sort of but it had great flavor. We had the hot dog for the kiddo and she devoured it. All and all it was a good fast food bbq joint.

I used to like Buddy’s BBQ and we are there quite often. But the new one in Clinton is horrible. We’ve gone there several times and disappointed every time. Tonight is the last time. The chicken was dry and tough like a 10 year old rooster that was cooked last week. And please look at the attached photo to see what they have me when I ordered a piece of lemon pie…. Not even half a piece was in the container, but they didn’t skimp on the price. I will go there no more!!
