Food was fine. Service was fine, despite being short staffed. The issue was our table. We were seated at a table that was just a few feet from the restroom doors. Don’t think it was supposed to be, but since the bathroom is so close to the street, it ends up being the public bathroom, and there was constant traffic. Even the traffic could have been tolerable, but every time the bathroom door opened, we got a strong whiff of what I describe as a public park bathroom odor. Not a pleasant smell, made worse by trying to eat a meal. I wouldn’t advise anyone to avoid the establishment necessarily, but steer clear of sitting anywhere near the bathroom.

The location is iconic, and great history. The food was good but service was not up to par. 20 minute wait and empty tables. Fun to eat there but other options as well

The town may be called Deadwood but when your hunger is alive and well, head to the Buffalo Bodega Complex or the “Stockcade”. Dine outside (seat yourself) or in. If you walk in, follow the neon arrow sign to the restaurant. Burger, fries and a Deschutes on tap hits the spot on a warm Black Hills Summer Day.

Excellent prime rib. I had a short wait to get seated but it was not top long. No desserts available.

If I could leave a zero star review I would. This establishment singled out the only black man in the bar, checked his id 3 times and called the cops for no reason. It was a racial motivated act. Disgusting people with disgusting morals.

Arguably the most disappointing food experience we have had. Cheese sticks were okay. My son ordered the Chicken Tender Dinner and only got 2 tiny strips (maybe the size of two fingers each) and some fries for $17

Service was great. Food was mediocre, but high prices for what we got. Overall it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t anything that deserves 4 or 5 stars. A simple meal for two was $40. We got fried shrimp with fries, and the deadwood dip with fries. The meat on the deadwood dip was a little dry but not terrible. I will try other places around deadwood before coming back here.

Very cool interior and our server was excellent, providing very attentive and fast service. The food was decent but definitely a bit over priced. The buffalo burger was pretty good but probably not worth $18 plus another $2 to add a single slice of cheese, which is a pretty ridiculous markup. We tried the rocky mountain oysters but there was a bit too much breading and it was very salty. Overrall food was no-thrills, a bit pricey, but you’re ultimately paying for the atmosphere here and a couple of unique finds on their menu such as the buffalo burger and rocky mountain oysters.

Burgers were really dry and way over priced at $16. I got the dill chicken and it tasted like it was warmed up in the microwave. Just not very quality food.

Very first thing the server dumps a glass of ice water in my lap. Accidents happen. I didn’t say anything to her but apparently she was too scared to come back so a guy waits on us. We didn’t get the appetizer we ordered and he’s bringing out our food. He took it off our bill so ok no big deal. Then we order a second round of drinks and never get them. He brings the bill and we tell him about the drinks. He has no clue. Then my wife finishes eating and goes to the bathroom we had literally been done eating 5 mins and they ask us to leave. The food was not good for the amount it cost. Paid 35 for a ribeye, baked potato was hard as a rock and the roll was literally straight out of the package. Like dinner rolls from Walmart. If you’re coming to Deadwood I highly recommend finding somewhere else to eat.
