Loved this place! Traveling and found this gem in a small seemingly non-existent town! The service was friendly and cheerful and the food was potential and delicious. I got a brisket sandwich with optional cooked mushrooms and onions, lettuce and tomato on a hoagie. It had a lot of meat and boy was it good! My husband had a hamburger with a 10 ounce beef patty on it. Both came with fries for about $12. The Western atmosphere was perfect for this Montana town! I would definitely eat here again!

While working in Conrad, my husband heard how amazing this place is. We were headed to Glacier and on a whim decided to stop for dinner. We waited an hour and a half for our food. The waitress continually forgot to bring us things like the milk we ordered for our baby. She forgot the buns she said came with a meal. We even reminded her and she said she would bring them in a minute and never did. At the end she said she would give our two children free ice cream for the wait.

I’ve heard great things about this place so my husband and I decided to give it a try. The building and it’s furnishings were really fascinating. I love the old time saloon feel it had. We were able to choose our seat and our waitress came by about five minutes later. We decided to start off with an appetizer, the pulled pork nachos, while deciding what we wanted. Once we put in our main order we figured the nachos would be out soon. We waited almost a full hour for our nachos. The waitress didn’t come by once while we waited. Then maybe five to ten minutes after that our main course arrived. So we definitely didn’t have time to really eat any of the nachos. Once she dropped off our plates she looked at my husband and said oops, I forgot your soup. So I mentioned I was supposed to have a side salad with my meal. Those were brought to us after everything else. By the time we received everything we had been waiting a little over an hour and the food was very disappointing for the amount of time we had waited. My mashed potatoes were hot(like unbearable hot), like they’d thrown them in the microwave before serving them and the temperature was not even throughout. The corn was good but cold and my steak wasn’t really cooked to my preference and it wasn’t really one of the best ribeyes I’ve had. My husband ordered the rainbow trout which seemed like it was cooked from frozen but they just microwaved it to cook it. He said he didn’t even think it was the correct type of fish and it definitely didn’t fall apart like fish should. It was tough and chewy. He also ordered the hot slaw which was not great. We had to pack up much of our food to go since it took so long to serve us but what we did eat was not worth the hype this place has been given. Especially not worth the price. We also realized as we were on our way home that we were never given our rolls either. Maybe it was an off day for them or maybe they were focused more on the birthday party they were catering to but this place I would not recommend. Terrible and slow service and the food isn’t that great.

Absolutely amazing! Buffalo Joe’s is the most Montana place in Montana! The food is delicious! We had the grilled Prime Rib and it was cooked to perfection. The flavour was rich, potatoes and gravy, side of corn – all tastes amazing! Worth taking a few minutes out of your drive and supporting this little place!

This was the absolute BEST hamburger I’ve had in I don’t even know when. The burger is huge. The patty is thick but oh so tender (even at my well-done request). The onion rings were perfect too. This place needs to import itself to Bakersfield so I can have one all the time!!

Great looking place. I ordered fish and the wife ordered the steak. It took over almost 45 min to get the appetizer. It was almost an hour to get our main course. The fish was overcooked and tough. The steak the wife ordered was pretty good but not amazing. The decor was great and had a nice consistent theme. Staff was friendly. Spending 70$ on a late lunch for ok food was a bit much. But at least the drive was nice.

An unexpected treat to find on our way from St. Mary’s KOA to Helena! Dupuyer seemingly sprang out of nowhere and Buffalo Joe’s is right at the end of town. Delicious food and atmosphere. We loved the decor that it is clearly purposefully curated to convey the area’s history. We had the bison burger, jalapeño burger, blue cheese burger, and brisket sandwich with fried pickle spears to start: all wonderful and tasty! The fries were hot and crisp and so were the onion rings! Our son also left a message in their guestbook! Great visit; highly recommend! #thewanderingpondsgocoasttocoast
