I was sad to see Dogtown Taphouse gone and always nervous about an unknown quantity. No pix, no reviews, nothing on the Yelp. That being said, it took no time to convince me my fears were misplaced. Just the smells coming out of this place were worth the trip. Menu had a nice selection of meats and of particular interest, they had Italian sausage on the menu as opposed to the traditional German. Since we wanted to try a little of everything, we opted for the combination platter. It was 4 different 1/2 pound servings of meat and four sides. Obviously we had the brisket plus ribs, sausage, and pulled pork. Each was lightly, perfectly smoked and for the most part moist though the brisket was a tad dry for my taste. Three sauces came with, a tangy red, mustard, and traditional sweet sauce. Each one awesome in their own way. I don’t typically like mustard sauces but I’d eat this one all day and most of the night. Sides were each very well done, too. Coleslaw was traditional mayo based with a nice zing. Mac & cheese was plenty tasty and plenty cheesy, too. Potato salad was very traditional but lacked salt & pepper which was easily remedied. Cornbread was just okay firm but dry–needed some honey butter or something. It was a $78 platter enough for two plus leftovers. Not the best value but the flavors easily compensated. Would def eat here again and again!!

Very family friendly. Went for lunch and kids karaoke and tried the brisket nachos. They were so good, the brisket literally melted in your mouth. The kiddos got the chicken Mac and cheese to share and it was kid approved! Will be back for more.

Had the 1 lb of ribs (about 6-7 ribs) and a side. The ribs were EXCELLENT, tender and well seasoned with a dry rub and bbq sauce on the side if you wanted or needed it (I did not, but did try it out and it was also very good). I had the beans as my side and they were nicely flavored with pieces of brisket in them. My own preference would have been to have them a little spicier. There was a decent beer selection on tap. I’ll definitely be back there.

We almost didn’t go because it looked a little rough from the outside but once you go through the door it’s actually very cute and a comfortable atmosphere! I thought the food was great and we really loved the dill flavor in the potato salad. The ribs fell right off the bone and I could definitely eat my weight in their cornbread!

Wow, what a weird surprise. My husband and I weren’t even sure this place was real until we decided to check it out. We love a good dive bar and this place was a pleasant find. The service was good, the food was amazing with great portons. Fred, the guy who smokes all the meats and does some of the sides, really makes this place. Don’t be afraid of the obscure location. Check this place out. Oh my husband said to mention the smoked turkey was the best he’d ever had.

The bartender was great… Very attentive. The food left a lot to be desired. And then the cook came out complaining about how it was dead all day and suddenly there was a few orders and he had a bunch of dishes to do. No A/C on a hot day.

Atmosphere was great despite the a/c not working on the hottest week of the year. Our bartender was awesome. She had a great attitude. What ruined it was when the cook came out and complained that when he was going to do dishes several people showed up and ordered. His attutude bled over to the food…Everything I ordered was overcooked/dry, but my friend liked her brisket sandwich. It’s a nice little getaway to grab a drink and hang out, but I’d never order food again. Wouldn’t want anyone to have to do dishes for heavens sake.

Only had one meal they’re so I can’t say much. I had three ribs and Mr friend had a brisket sandwich. Both were good and seemed fresh. Smaller bar in a older neighborhood. Staff was friendly and helpful. No wet wipes for agree eating the ribs is my only complaint. Lol
