In 1982 Gerri and Ken Fiedler turned Bumdoodlers into Boerne’s most popular lunch destination. Now owned by Gerri’s youngest daughter, Jana Bezet & husband Danny, they have continued the family tradition & still make all their breads, desserts and soups from scratch with Gerri’s original recipes.
All our sandwiches are served on breads made from scratch and baked in our stores daily. We have signature sandwiches to choose from or you can create your own. Soups and salads are also made fresh daily.

I’ve been wanting to come try Bums out for a while now and I finally was able to get down there for lunch and I can honestly say it is worth the hype!! It may seem like a small place but it is packing big flavors! I ordered the Ruben with pastrami and a turkey sandwich for my little one with a cup of broccoli cheese soup. Needless to say we practically inhaled the food because it was so good. The thing I loved most about this place was that it almost felt like you were in someone’s home. You could tell everything was made with lots of love! I would give this more stars if I could but 5 will do for now.

In San Antonio to visit my adult son and he highly recommended the Bumdoodlers Lunch Co. or “BUMS” in Boerne for lunch. Wow, so happy we went. Great atmosphere and the food was super good. My son had the Reuben which he has had in the past and always enjoys. I had soup and a baked potato which was amazing. We of course had the world-famous pie for dessert which was excellent. What can I say, “BUMS” is the real deal. If you want a great lunch with amazing pie, you must stop at the Bumdoodlers Lunch Co. when you are in Boerne.

I asked to visit one of Boerne’s best restaurants during my visit. It could have been anywhere and any fare. It was Bumdoodlers! But don’t be afraid of the unsaved parking or the 40-year-old building! One spoonful of their broccoli cheese soup and you’ll be wondering why life has never tasted so good! I had a cup of soup and half of a brainstorm sandwich and I was full through dinner! Very impressed with the quality and taste!

I ate here all throughout high school in the 1990’s when boerne was a tiny three stop light town. I returned today and decided to eat here for the first time in 20 years. It hasn’t changed a bit. And that’s a good thing. Excellent food, service, and desert is the best in town. I recommended getting there before 1130 or call in an order to go. It gets packed.

I’ve been going to Bumdoodlers since 2005. By far the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Besides a salad several times over the years, I’ve rarely strayed from the Brainstorm (request it hot). The taste is like no other. They’re breads are baked in house. Don’t forget a cup of soup. My favorite is the broccoli and and cheese, but the vegetable is good too. And for desert… a piece of chocolate cheesecake. They also made my wife’s brides cake years ago and pies for me instead of a cake. Stop in and getcha some and you can thank me later.
