A few feet off the main road is this cozy local place. Ice cream is worth the drive. Food is on par, but did I mention the ice cream. Perfect on a summer day. Easily accessible bathrooms, kids play area. Enjoyable by all ages.

Hi! My family and I went to this place on our way to Decorah to visit The Seed Saver Exchange and had their Handmade Malts…OUT OF THIS WORLD DELICIOUS!!! If in the area, Highly Recommend!!! Portions were NICE, People were FRIENDLY, and Prices were REASONABLE!!!!

They were amazing. I came in with a to-go order for 17 people and they were super helpful. Staff even put the names of each person on their meals. Couldn’t believe how nice they were about it. If I’m ever in Elkader again I will definitely be going back.

Hot summer day led to a a Maid-Rite sandwich, savory sweet potato fries, and cold & creamy ice cream. Sat at a metal table under the porch roof and visited with local folks as I ate my lunch. Relaxing. Good food. 🙂
