Overstaffed, under managed, and a filthy place in which they call a restaurant! We were just passing through on our long drive back home. We ordered two double cheeseburger baskets and a kid’s mini corndog meal to go. When we arrived, there were two small families finishing up their meals in the dining area and one drive through order. Other than that, it was just us three. 36 long minutes later, we are finally in our truck with our bag of food! There were four staff working the restaurant, which a majority of the time, they spent chit chatting and lollygagging around! When haste and habit replace caution and care, one staff member burnt her hand whilst cooking our meal. Completely unaware of her surroundings, and with utter lack of communication, a second staff member admittedly told us she “had no idea she burnt her hand.” The fries were salty enough to choke a maggot, and if don’t have heart disease, you do now after eating the block of salt served with your fries. The food was overpriced and subpar. The floor had old, nasty ice cream dried on it around the ice cream freezer. Don’t stop! You’re better off saving your time, patience, money, and health by driving a little further to find a different place.

My food was good, but the service wasn’t. Though there were two employees at the cash register when I walked in, no one greeted me. (One even seemed to be a manager.) I stood there while they didn’t say anything, wondering if they were working on something. I finally had to be the first one to talk, but neither one said anything or took my order. Another employee came up and finally did; she was the only friendly one there. Less important: there was also loud country music and quite a few flies.

Decent food, decent prices. Little on the dirty side. Great for a quick stop but just know going in you’re going to have to overlook some health code violations. A little cleaning, get rid of some flies, and you got a great burger joint.

We always stop here on our way home from the cabin. Good burgers with crisp vegetables. They have some cool menu items that I have not seen elsewhere, namely their Nugget Snackie, which is like a chicken sandwich but snack size and with chicken nuggets instead. Simple idea executed well.

Got our food to go-bad choice. We both had the mushroom burgers. The mushrooms on our burgers were nasty and sour. We were already down the road or we would have returned our food. The hand dipped cheese curds were not hand dipped, just the premade tasteless stuff. Place was dirty and reaked of cigarette smoke when we walked in. Will drive a few miles to a chain restaurant before stopping here again.

I usually call an order in and within 10-15 minutes it is ready, and waiting. I adore their California burgers that are full of toppings! The pricing is inexpensive and the daily deals they have are significant enough to plan my lunch days around.

Stopped in to try their mini donuts. Didn’t have high expectations knowing it was unlikely that they made fresh donut batter daily. They don’t. Were definitely frozen. Immediately after receiving my mini donut bag I noticed it smelled a touch like onion rings. Which they also tasted like. Awful disappointment. Change your grease more often or separate donut fryer. It’s Verndale what do you expect?

Menu says 3.75 or something for a medium shake on the drive through and charged $6.75 for it at the window! Also have a couple clear pictures of owner not wearing gloves when making food… gross.. no one wants your germs in their food even if you washed your hands.. MN says you have to wear gloves when making food.. well clearly for an owner to do that shows a lot…..

Stop by with the family every time we go to my grandparents cabin. On the way there and back. Good and fast, service is always quick and friendly. They even put up with my dads “dad jokes”. Recommend the burgers, you can’t go wrong with them.
