Stopped in for lunch and it was busy. Line moved pretty slow and food was lukewarm when we got it. Brisket was good, street corn was excellent and the key lime pie is amazing. Pulled pork was dry and the sandwich bread/buns are tough. Same bread is used for the kids sliders and was difficult for them to chew. I think the sides are pricey for what you get too. Looking forward to going back and trying a drink though and atmosphere was nice. Spent $40 on lunch with one main ($15), two sides ($5 each), a kids meal ($5) and a small pie ($9) to go. We choose to get water.

First time visit been waiting for the opening since spring. The portion are big plus the taste is amazing.. too bad they ran out of pulled pork but they replaced it for us with another portion of brisket

Awesome Atmosphere! I love the huge tables. The savory food was delicious but I was not impressed by the dessert parfaits. Hopefully dessert will change up. The line concept is different… not sure how that would pan out with large groups. Definitely going to be a great place for gathering after high school games!

Brisket was very good, tender but not mush. Chicken was good. Pulled pork was good – moist and tender. Sides: Corn casserole, street corn, cheesy potatoes, Mac & Cheese ALL very good. Thumbs down on the Coleslaw. Good variety on the six sauces. There will be one that fits your pallet. Overall we will be back. The atmosphere was very friendly. Cafeteria style is the standard for BBQ. But this sets you up for a friendly environment to socialize.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Butcher Block Social! The food was phenomenal and the staff were all very friendly! Pit-master Mike came out and gave us a sample of his street corn (SO good!). We got the brisket, cheesy potatoes (truly the best potatoes I’ve ever had!), and mac & cheese. Great atmosphere! Caledonia needed a great restaurant like this! Can’t wait to go back!

Went for dinner with hubby, parents and my daughter and her boyfriend. There was no instruction from the hostess on what to do. Sat at a large table indoors (outdoor seating is an option). The waiter came by to take a drink order, and let us know the tiny QR code was the menu. The water glasses are a size above a shot glass. We were given a second carafe of water for the six of us, as several folks got adult beverages. Next we hopped in the Subway style line to get our food. When we got to the order taker, she walked away and was gone for 5 minutes. She came back and we went to place our order, and she said that she needed my credit card. Again, no one had told us that we needed to bring a card to order. So she wanted us to get out of line and walk back to the table and get a card and then back in line – did not happen. My daughter went and grabbed my purse. We ordered and the staff took quite a while to assemble the order. We grabbed utensils from a basket near checkout, and went back to the table. We realized that there were no plates. My husband found a stack and was told they were for takeout only. Not acceptable, as we weren’t going to eat off a family platter tray. The meat was good, and had a great smoke flavor. The sides were average/below average. Cole slaw not dressed, Mac and cheese and cheesy potatoes were greasy and dry (not sure how that was possible, but it was). We did ask about dessert, and the waiter had no clue if we needed to get in line again or could order from him. He did say that we needed to get back in line — we were going to pass because the line was long (at least 12 people deep). He then said he would get them.

I am SO grateful for a restaurant like this coming to Caledonia. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! The food was SO GOOD! And you get a ton food for your money. I ordered the pulled pork and there were so many different yummy sauces I could try at the table and they were all so delicious. The coleslaw was super fresh and more like a salad with lots of flavor and crunch-delicious. I do like the cafeteria style ordering, however I wish I could have picked what I wanted as I went down the line instead of picking what I wanted before seeing it. But… maybe it’s a good thing because I probably would have ordered everything cannot wait to come back when they have live music. What an incredible addition to Caledonia. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
