I love coming here. They have the best crab cakes in the area. The staff is always super friendly and the food is AMAZING! I’ve been multiple times and I have never been disappointed. The atmosphere and ambiance are good. The price is fair, especially the since the portion shines are pretty large.

They made a lot of changes to the restaurant for the better. It looks brighter, bigger, and better. My server was awesome. He was a very nice guy and he had lots of smiles and laughs and I enjoyed that. On to the food! The food was ok, I ordered the half and half soup, and that came out cold. I ordered the brussel sprouts, and that was good, but it was pretty salty. I also ordered the blacken salmon wrapped. That was good but very salty, and it came with fries, but my fries came out old and cold. However, my awesome waiter fixed the soup and my fries. My server actually saved me from giving this restaurant a 2 star.

I was visiting for a work trip and asked a local where to go for a good crab cake and he recommended this place. I thought it was absolutely delicious. The soup was also amazing blending both types together. The service was friendly and quick and the drink I had was very good as well. I hope to come back just to visit this place again.

Take out order: First, the crab cakes are always excellent! They never disappoint. However, the sides this time where not up to par. Just sad. You get 2 sides with an entree. We got the crab platters. I asked them if they offered side salads as one of their sides, they said yes but it was a $6 upcharge for a salad. WHAT?!?! I’ve never experienced anything like that. It was ridiculous. I paid the fee because it was what my wife requested. Then to add insult to injury the other sides where just very small. For my meal I the 2 sides where zucchini and carrots – disappointing. If you go you’ll probably enjoy the seafood just be careful if you order sides. Don’t expect much. Please see the pictures.

It was packed in there this afternoon but the service was still good. We ordered the bowleys quarters salad and crab cake with a side of cold slaw and fries. The salad was really good, but I opt not to have the raisins in it. It’s too much with the cranberries and the dressing is great. Crab cake is huge and really good. I loved the fries but the cold slaw was horrible.

Another great dinner at By the Docks Restaurant. They’re doing some interior renovations, but don’t let that stop you from having some great food. Crab cakes were delicious! Combined with a baked potato and honey sauced carrots….,..yummy!! Excellent large crab cakes. Lump crab meat and hardly any filler ingredients. Try their cream of crab soup too. You won’t be disappointed. See you again soon!!
