Well i can not say that it was worth the effort and time. Being from south Louisiana i wanted to try there redbeans and Rice but the signs said they were out and looked like it has been that way for a while. Louisiana is famous for other things than redbeans and rice. How about offering a good type of poboy say shrimp catfish or a good one would be roast beef poboy sandwich on a decent French bread. So the jest of this i personally would say don’t bother spending your money . All most forgot about the French fries that everyone has mentioned. Yes they are horrible. Definitely not worth the six dollars they charge for them. And i get that food cost are through the roof. But it has to do more with the way the food is cooked. I will gladly pay premium prices for something if the quality is there ! But don’t blow

The place was entirely empty and so we sat down at one of the tables (not knowing all of them were for the restaurant) with our 2 year old to eat his snack and the lady, presumably the owner or manager, went absolutely NUTS and started yelling at us that the tables were private for the restaurant and not just for anyone to sit at. We were considering getting fries for us once we settled our 2 year old in and that immediately deterred us. Clearly this lady doesn’t have children or doesn’t like them. Please calm down lady, take a breath and conform to the overall chill and friendly vibe of this wonderful town.

I’ve had courteous service and delicious food every time I’ve eaten here. Is it as fast as McDonald’s? No. McDonald’s is over on Bridge St south of Carpenter if that’s your standard. Of course, McD’s lacks bison sliders and fresh baked scones–and a beach. Thank you, Bywater Cafe.

Decent ham sandwich with Cole slaw on it! The view here is incredible, parking was free, ate under a shade tree when it was 75, clear skies, a cool breeze blowing in, doesn’t get much better than that.

Beautiful view. Fries were gross. Seriously please re think those. Huge bag of overly large saggy potatoes with a wierd seasoning. Not good.

A great location to stop by for a quick bite to eat while out at the beach. I tried the smoothie, magnificent shakes, root beer float, and the Coney. The friendly staff brings it out to you when it’s ready.

I have been here a handful of times over the past couple years. Last time I was here I brought my 90 yr old client with me for a lunch date and she and I had an amazing time. We loved our chicken salad wrap and our seasoned bag of fries. The setting was perfect and the owner even brought our meal to us while we sat at the beautiful painted tables to our surprise we found out she even hand painted the tables and chairs. Highly recommended and sad that its only open for the summer season but definitely understand since its at the beach!!!

Very good cafe right on Michigan beach, in Charlevoix. They have all sorts of snacks like mozzarella cheese sticks, a bag of hand cut French fries, salads, burgers, bison burger sliders, and my favorite smoked whitefish cake sliders. These are like little crab cakes on a nice fresh slider buns with a fresh mix of greens and a remoulade.
