Although I have zero Filipino blood, I’ve grown up in a Catholic parish that is about 80 percent Filipino, so I’d had some pretty high expectations going in. My expectations were met. I came during the lunch hour and there was a line out the door, and a half dozen bustling cooks and servers behind the counter. I ordered Pork Ginataan (Pork in a rich coconut sauce), pork lumpia, and a rice cake. I’ve also ordered lechon (roasted whole pig) here before. Oh boy do they deliver. You just can’t replace the cooking of a few Filipina grandmas. I highly recommend Cabalen.

IT WAS MY FIRST TIME THERE. I’d never eaten Filipino food before. Everything was great. The only small problem was their MACARONI SALAD that had a lot of shredded chicken in it and no cheese. They should put in the cheese where the put in the chicken, But I’ll be back .

We would give zero star! We ordered AND PAID for catering at this place on Sunday for our “pamamanhikan” this Thursday. We ordered Adobo, Kaldereta, Sisig na Bangus, Pinakbet, and Lumpiang Shanghai. We called today, Wednesday, to confirm our pick up. Lo and behold, they cancelled ALL of our orders less than 24hrs before the event claiming they can’t do it! What a terrible customer service!! If you couldn’t do it, you should have said it the day we placed our orders OR at least called us back that day that you can’t do it. What a terrible place!!! Will never come here for any catering services!!!
