My husband and I went for a road trip today to see a part of Iowa we had not seen before. We asked a family on the street where a good place to eat was, and it being a Sunday, they suggested the Cabbage Rose. Immediately we fell in love with the hometown restaurant. They have 5 or 6 different main dishes, a potato choice, a vegetable of the day, a salad bar that has lots of choices, hot rolls and beverages all for a very reasonable price. The food was excellent, and the service was fantastic. If you come thru on a Sunday at lunchtime, make it a plan to stop.

Excellent homemade food! Just like grandma would make. (Providing your grandma was an excellent cook.) Start with a trip to the salad bar. Then you have your choice of main course and side along with bread & a vegetable. Iced tea or lemonade included in the price. Don’t skip dessert! It’s only an extra $2.00 for an amazing, from scratch slice of pie.
