This hole in the wall is truly worth 5 star rating. This is literally a Hawaiian Fusion restaurant with some Chinese influence. The Mac salade is extremely good, like compete with Hawaiian time good. The meat is like smoked or something, and seared perfectly on the grill. I have never had chicken this good. The chicken is the perfect tender, delicious, and sauced. The sauces on the chicken are so amazing! The rice is a nice sticky white rice. I met one of the owners and the guy is such a blessing of a person to meet. Plus the desserts are homemade, and so good! I truely can’t wait to come back and hit up this cafe! The waiter was super friendly and awesome!

I’m not sure what’s behind the coast’s Hawaiian food renaissance, but I am all for it. This would be a great restaurant anywhere. For small-town Oregon, it’s remarkable. The menu is a collection of Hawaiian greatest hits and Chinese comfort food, with a big selection of desserts. We tried their loco moco, orange chicken (with orange slaw on the side), spam musubi, upside down cake, and a streusel cake. The owner threw in two bar cookies, which were delicious. All of the food was made with care and attention to detail. The only thing I would change is I’d figure out when the musubis were being made so I could get one hot. Give this place some love and spend your cash here; I guarantee the food is better than DQ (and the money you spend will actually stay local).

The owner is the most kind man. Every time I’ve been in, there is a younger man who serves us and he is always so polite. I have never left Cafe 235 unsatisfied with the quality of my meal or the service. I recommend this place to everyone, my family considers it one of our favorite places in the area.

I gave food service and atmosphere all of five. I don’t do that very often. In fact I would recommend driving into Toledo just to sit and experience the small unique atmosphere, not to mention the food, I got the huly huli which was wonderful. The boneless chicken was so tender and the sauces were very good.
