This food is absolutely delicious. Had the babaganoush, fatoush salad and vegetarian mousakka. Every dish blew me away. Very nice staff, family friendly atmosphere. They were nice enough to split the moussaka on two plates for myself and my sister. Will be back!!

My wife and I went here solely based on the yelp and Google reviews. The food was absolutely incredible. Just calling it Mediterranean would do it an injustice. The vegetarian Moussaka was like nothing I ever had. The flavors were incredible. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary and a wonderful dining experience, give Cafe 28 a try.

came across this gem with my family. The Ambience is traditional Egyptian which was a huge plus. The chef was super friendly and delivered AMAZING food. Hands down some of the best meditation food we’ve had in the state. I live in union county and I will be back for more

Service was poor, took over an hour just to get our appetizers. We did not get our dinner for another half hour after that. Waiter did not even apologize for the incredibly long wait (nor was the restaurant crowded); he actually seemed annoyed that we asked if it would be much longer. Portions were small and not worth the price.

Cafe 28 is nothing short of incredible!! The food is flavorful, fresh, and leaves you wanting to try more. The owner is SO polite and friendly. You can tell he prides himself on not only the quality of his food (which is top tier)- but his service! Hands down the best falafel I have ever had in my life, and the Turkish coffee is an absolute dream. Cafe 28 sets the bar high, and delivers time after time. I never pass up the opportunity to grab lunch here 🙂

Hidden gem. We were a party of 5 and we all shared our meals since my friend who discovered this place said that we had to try everything. Without saying more, he was exactly on point! We shared the falafels, the hot humus with beef and the eggplant casserole for apps. I ordered the beef shawarma and didn’t want to share it ( was the special on this night). Other order the chicken shawarma, lamb shank, chicken Alexandria, macaroni bechalel. Everything was great and beyond! If you were to watch our group stabbing at others plates and exclaiming how great everything tasted was almost embarrassing, but if you were tasting these meals, you would have joined the “OMG” crew! For desert we had the rice pudding and bechamel!!!!!! A must too!

Went to Cafe 28 for the first time last week – it won’t be my last! If I lived closer, I’d eat here twice a week. The owner/chef/server etc is Mohamed and he and his food are gems. I’m a plant based eater and had so many options; the falafel was literally the best I’ve ever had; the salads were fantastic as was everything else. If it’s crowded, open your wine (great wine shop right across the park find lot), relax and be prepared to wait – the food is worth it. A true hidden gem.
