Welcome to Cafe BarBosso, we are a humble little Peasant Italian place. Our restaurant is named after Frank “Frankie Bumps” BarBosso a nice Italian guy from Little Italy in NYC.
Our Chef Tasting is a 8-course adventure comprised of Chef Joe’s culinary journey around the world. Incredible products are flown in exclusively for the experience from Japan to Spain to France to the Middle East and beyond.

Amazing food and atmosphere! This gem serves Italian food with a touch of Asian fusion. We had a delicious bottle of Pinot Grigio, the specials: tuna stack (amazing sauce!), carbonara (the best ever, perfectly salty bacon), and the veal saltambuca which was so good – nothing left. Finished it all off with a tasty tiramasu and some bailey’s with some sort of amazing whipped cream!

Great establishment. The owner greeted us himself as soon as we walked in the door, which I’ve never had happen in any restaurant. His staff was super friendly. The food was amazing. Highly recommend doing the Chef’s table experience, all 8 courses were 10/10 quality. I live in Upstate NY and I’m already thinking about planning my next vacation to Sarasota again just because of this restaurant. The best dining experience I’ve ever had, and it’s not even close. The artists painting while you dine is such a cool experience, the art is amazing as well. I wish I could leave a review for 10 stars. Amazing

If you want an authentic Italian restaurant experience this is an excellent choice. The service was fantastic and our server also happened to be Italian which was a nice touch. The food was amazing and you could tell that they really care about quality. I would definitely recommend dining at this establishment.

Cool place. The live art show is a Cool idea and the service was pretty good. Unfortunately the food was boring. Red sauce tasted like it’s from a jar that you get at the grocery. Our bread that brought to the table was burnt. My girlfriends chicken parm was also burnt and very bland. I so wanted to like this place

Wow! I can see why this Italian restaurant has such high ratings. I was in from out of town and looking for a good Italian place, I walked in and was greeted by the Manager, Debbie, who went out of her way to make me feel welcomed and took great care of me. (during a Friday night dinner rush hour!) Evan was my waiter and the service was excellent and quick. The friendly and personable owner, Joe DiMaggio Jr., cooks delectable Italian dishes in the center bar while engaging with patrons. His art work, along with other local artists, are displayed on the walls. The atmosphere is upbeat, positive and the food is incredibly delicious! What a Hidden Gem. I ll be back next time I’m in Sarasota. Thank you Cafe Barbosso for an exceptional experience! 5 plus Stars

First time here but it won’t be the last. The food was amazing! The chicken saltimbocca was perfect as was my husband’s shrimp and pasta. The tiramisu alone was worth the trip! Server Patrick and owner Joe made us feel like family! Can’t wait to return!

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Sarasota. The food is always good and the place has a energetic vibe all its own. The chef’s table is a must-try with some of the most amazing small plates I have ever had. The Ultimate Eggplant is my go-to and the Tiramisu is fantastic. I have not had a mediocre meal here.
