The Mango Man is the coolest! The vegan burrito was excellent. It’s hard to find good vegan options, so usually I will just settle for whatever, but the vegan burrito was amazing. All the ingredients were super tasty, especially the fried plantains and Thony’s special sauces. The tortilla smelled so good and it tasted great. As I was waiting for my food, a woman in line told me that Thony makes the tortillas from scratch. Now that’s a labor of love! The food was so good that I came back the next day to get another burrito. I also got a mango mojito. It was really refreshing and had some spices in it that gave it a depth of flavor. Thony is super friendly and gives off the best vibes. If you see the Cafe Costa Rica food cart, do yourself a favor and talk to Thony and buy some of his delicious food.

We tried calling twice but no answer. Let me put this in the proper context. We spend our winters in Costa Rica and live an hour away from this restaurant. We know a thing or two about Costa Rican food. My wife is also a food and recipe evaluator for a major food magazine and website. We researched Cafe Costa Rica and decided it’s not worth an hour long drive to get to a restaurant that’s apparently only opened two hours a week and on a Wednesday. We long for a good cosada meal and

I would give 100 stars if I could! Cafe Costa Rica is the best food cart in Madison, imo, and Chef Thony is the nicest guy.

I’ve loved this food since the first time I tried it. My family frequented the two physical locations and we grab something from the food truck anytime we see it. This past year we’ve ordered the take-home family meals several times as well. The latin chicken is my favorite entree. The plantains are AMAZING and the sauce is to die for. Seriously, buy a bottle … or four! Absolutely recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love, love, love, love.

This was my first time ever trying Costan Rican cuisine, and I had a wonderful experience! The ambiance is nice, settled cozily on the first floor of an older Willy Street home, and the food is to die for. I’ve heard that the chef here has quite a good reputation in the city, and it shows. My meal was decorated fantastically and tasted even better. In short, I highly recommend Cafe Costa Rica and can’t wait to go back myself.

Love their spicy tender wings and emanadas (the ones Ive tried so far). I also ordered their delicious Costa Rican coffee with condensed milk over ice. So creamy and frothy! I eyed other dishes being served at othee tables. Everything looked fresh and mouth watering. The interior isnt bad at all. Kind of dark and out dated but atleast they keep it clean and neat. Chef Clarke (owner) was very friendly and attentive to all his customers. Definitely coming back!
