Hidden Gem is an overused phrase but the only one that fully captures Cafe Paradisio. Locally owned, family run, a solid but adventurous menu made with fresh ingredients prepared in the moment. Many favorites and zero misses. The missing star is from an only so-so wine selection. Plan ahead, seating is limited and regulars fill the place most nights.

Having recently moved here from a big city area that had an AMAZING food scene, we’ve had to temper our expectations of many restaurants as being “Redding Good” vs what we were used to back in our former home. This is the first place that just legitimately blew us away. The staff was excellent. The ambiance was perfect. The food… My goodness… The FOOD!

This is my new favorite place in Redding! The menu options are small but creative and delicious. Every menu item came out of the kitchen piping hot! So fresh! We have the mushroom polenta appetizer. it was creamy and delicious with a tasty garlic olive oil. The garlic bread was a bit peppery for my taste but I enjoyed it. It makes you want to have a beer!

Cafe Paradisio is my favorite restaurant and possibly the best place to get a truly inspired and fabulous meal in Redding. I look forward to the seasonal menu changes and the creativity and artistry of each new dish. I recommend ordering whatever fish dish is on the menu because it is constantly balanced, thoughtful, and delicious. Eating here inspires me to be a better home chef. There is always a great wine to pair with your meal. The service is excellent. Whether you need a pick me up or a nice place to celebrate, Cafe Paradisio is your best bet in Redding.

I’m glad this place opened in Redding. We went on a Friday night and it was very busy. The food was very high quality and the wine paired well with my soup and entree.

This is a very nice and classy little cafe tucked into downtown Redding. The lunch menu was very interesting and I had a hard time choosing just one item. I went with the Shrimp BTL ($13) and a small bowl of clam chowder as my side dish ($3 upcharge). They have a nice wine and beer menu and I ordered a local microbrewed IPA ($7). Everything was well prepared and was very tasty although the shrimp could have used more flavor (maybe sauteed with butter and garlic). With tip my lunch tab was right at $30 and I was pleased to pay it.

For a restaurant I heard was really good, I guess I expected more. Too dimly lit for my liking, while trying to eat a meal, and tacky bathroom decor.
