The restaurant is second floor from street level. I absolutely loved the seafood stew….it was amazing. Both French white wine glasses were great. My only tiny criticism is they were too cold; wine too cold hides the flavor and aromas. I live 3.5 hours away and would come back for this stew.

The tomato tart on a thin crust was delectable and just perfect. Try it for sure. I had the lamb chops and enjoyed them. Cooked just right. Service was also timely and helpful. Was visiting from Seattle area the weekend of the 1st. Will return again on our next trip to Vermont.

Nice quaint town. Several options for places to eat in Brandon, Vermont. Not on Sunday. Cafe Province was the only place open. The atmosphere and food was great. 5pm, the hostess greeted us and escorted us to a table with a menu. We wait. My girlfriend and I had a large lunch earlier, we ordered a pizza to share. She had an unsweetened tea and I had a mixed drink. So, our bill was close to $40 total. The server mentioned the specials for the evening. The restaurant was empty. Four women show up. They were seated next to us. The sever was at their table several times. It would have been zero effort on his part to turn towards us to see if we needed anything. Instead, he turned around and ignored us. It doesn’t matter if our tab was 40 or 100 dollars, we are still your customer. He had someone else bring over our pizza. The only time he came over was to give us our bill. I tipped him for the drinks only. That was the only time he came over to our table. Ok. I had on a t shirt and blue jeans. I wasn’t business casual nor did I wear my $500 dollar pin stripped suit. It shouldn’t make a difference. Simple put, I DON’T LIKE BEING IGNORED.

I have been here several times and each time the food, ambiance, and service is superb. Dinner last night was beautiful. We had Asiago Cup Salad, Caesar Salad, and side salad for appetizers and all were perfect. I wish we could buy the asiago cups!! Dinner rolls were served piping hot and wonderful. The entrees were divine! For the first time I tried one of their pizza’s, (the Portobello) and the meatiness of the mushrooms were very well balanced by lemon zest— a combination I have never seen before. My dad greatly enjoyed his steak, and the server Dawn perfectly recommended a gluten-free combination for my Mother that met her VERY strict standards (this is a woman that is nearly impossible to impress at restaurants). Can’t wait to go back soon!

My husband and I both had one of the specials, Breaded Chicken Nicoise over Angel Hair Pasta. It was fabulous. I hope it’s on the menu the next time I visit, which will be soon! We have been to this restaurant several times and everything we’ve had has been delicious.

We had a reservation for dinner. It wasn’t busy at the time and we ordered 3 salads and dinner. It took 45 minutes to get 2 salads. They said something about the pizza place next door being closed which was causing a backup for our pizzas. However the pizza was cold and obviously sitting for awhile before we got it. one of us didn’t even get the salad and when he reminded the waitress about it, it came missing the chicken. The chicken we did get on the salad was really dry. I think our total wait from sitting to getting our food was almost an hour and a half. Our waitress wasn’t very personable or attentive either (another one had brought drinks and a couple of items who was more friendly) $130 for salads and pizzas that were cold is really steep. I would not recommend

Today was our first time to Easter brunch. Will DEFINITELY NOT be our last. We have been several Thanksgivings, a Mother’s Days, and a few just “regular” suppers.

The food was pretty good. I had flat iron steak with mashed potatoes and it was really good. I liked the sauce a lot. Also the Cali Mari was good. The seafood stew was also very good, lots of seafood in it and the presentation was nice. We got the duck but the sweetness of the blueberries and oranges was a bit odd and didn’t go well.

Cafe Provence was a nice experience. The wait staff was very accommodating with allowing us to move inside when the mosquitos decided that I was the best thing on the menu! Ambiance was casual classy and the waitress was attentive. The salads, soup, and pasta appetizers were delicious. My boyfriend’s seafood dish was very good. My hanger steak was very over cooked but was replaced by the waitress and the kitchen staff came over to apologize and attributed the error to new staff being trained. I would recommend marinating the hanger steak to get some more flavor into it (it was a bit bland) and then slicing it across the grain to display on the plate after cooking (great way to check correct doneness and adds to the presentation). Dessert was a delightful flight sweet treats…
